Aussie Racing Cars At Bathurst?

There has been considerable discussion in these forums to suggest that the Aussie Racing Cars won't be racing at Bathurst at Easter. However both the event website and the Aussie Race Cars website still have them listed as appearing although they are not mentioned in any of the print advertising for the meeting. Can anyone give a definitive answer as to what is happening?Without them the meeting has only 6 20 minute races spread over 3 days which is laughable.

It is possible the websites may not be up to date - best to phone the organisers who ought to know.

I just checked the garage allocations and pit lane garages have been allocated to Aussie racers, but not to Aust GT.

storyline should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Five Aussie Racing Car media releases have just gone out and all finish off with the following:
Quote:
The next Aussie Racing Cars meeting will be a non-championship round held on April 13-16 at Mt Panorama Bathurst.

Even with the ARCs the amount of racing is still laughable. This is Mount Panorama. Any time the track is not being used is time wasted. ARCs are not the magic bullet that will 'save' the meeting.

Hey Falcadore what do you mean save the meeting? I dont think it will need saving as it is an easter race meeting at the Mountain, what more could you ask for. Give it a chance, maybe this year will be soft but it will build and if Aussie Racers can be so popular everywhere else they rub then at the mount they will be a buzz. The utes have had their day and will be the time to go to the loo.

Then you can get your prime position for the GT cars.

How many GT cars? The meeting does sound a little threadbare as regards overall events...Not that I would travel there, if that is all that is going to be there.

I haven't seen the entry lists for any class other than Historic Touring Cars, but I believe there are in excess of 20 GTs entered.

Peddler has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I will be at this event, i can not wait. I was speaking to a few poeple today who have the impression that this event is going to turn into something as grand as Goodwood Festival of Speed but obviously an aussie version

Yeah and I love how BIMF is using drag racing engines to promote the event.
