Young Roberts, how long do you think that Suzuki will stick with him.He seems to have no drive ,it has been many years since he has shown anysort of form and I think he would have to be the "luckiest" champion in many years,perhaps even luckier than Craville.Watching him last week end some 2-3 seconds off the pace of the leaders was pathetic.Surelly the bike can't be that bad ,and equally if it is surelly he should be part of the fix,or has been part of the problem

You don't become the only non-Honda champion in a decade through luck, considering that Honda had a perfectly good lineup and a theoretically ebtter bike that year.

Suzuki have really struggled with teh MotoGP bike, simple as that. The rpesence of 6 Hondas and the increasinly impressive Yamahas makes it very hard for them to get on level terms, especially with reduced support from head office.

Suzuki are certainly struggling, but I will have to echo Onlooker's thoughts. Roberts, IMO, has done stuff-all since his World Championship. He's resting on his laurels nowadays.

No you don't do it through luck, you do it through good fortune and excellent timing.
I may be incorrect but didn't he win it when Honda were dealing with Doohan was just retired and Rossi was getting to grips with the 500cc machine.

They still had the reigning champion Alex Criville though, not to mention Seté Gibernau (I think). I'm not sure what the difference is between luck and fortune, but that's another matter.

Great lap from Kenny today - I certainly didn't expect to come so good so soon. With Nicky on the front row as well, is that a first for 2 American riders since Rainey & Schwantz?

You don`t become World Champion through luck and fortune and timing which has been stated. You can only win it through hard work and great management on and of the track through the course of the year. You may win one or two races a year by luck and fortune but not a championship. Kenny is an accomplished rider. Do you think that the might of Suzuki would stick with Kenny if he was passed his used by date. Put him on a decent bike and you will see what he is made of. You have to give him huge applause for sticking it out through the tough times at Suzuki and hopefully soon he will reap the rewards although that appears unlikely on this bike. And by getting pole in the last race proves that he has it. Get that Suzuki sorted and he can do anything.

it was the year the factory bikes were slower then the West bikes . of Capirossi&Barros .. but he worked for his championship ..

won 4 races in 2000..... think the pole at brazil had a lot to do with tyres

give him credit for sticking with suzuki though - where is john hopkins these days....

kenny is an awesome talent, there is just no doubt about it. I think the question should be "wow, can you believe that kenny has stayed with suzuki all this time!" No one here seriously thinks that he hasn't had offers from every team?

If he has had offers and not taken it up he is a dill.Suzuki are going nowhere and he is happy to tag along for the ride.Riding for a team that he is not easily compared to anyother rider.
