Ohhh I'm betting on Will! He's only got to finish first in every race and hope the four in front of him, score no points (or near enough to no points) in every remaining race.

...na just kidding, SVG has this in the bag.

agreeing with what you are saying

a 19th for sVG in any of the 4 races or a last place in any race at sydney will see Will eliminated (i guess there are penalties)

SVG should get it this year. Two championships in the one year will look good on his CV, although I'd place more credence on the other one.

At what point does the championship become secure? It'd be great to see him win it at Pukekohe!!

Just saying you place more credence in a series that he was able to win even though he missed a round. a 5 race series against a 30 race series.

your credence is totally stuffed up

But a huuuge amount of competition in the other one.

To be honest, to win either is an achievement, both in the same season would be stunning.

The Enduro Cup is only three rounds, and SVG didn't miss any rounds. First win by an international combination, well worth celebrating.

No arguments,

However this thread is about the VA supercars championship and porsche91722 was referring to his blancpain endurance championship win

If SVG does win I am going to have to eat some humble pie.

I thought he would win races but also have a few shockers.

I'd say I was wrong.

Me too, he has settled down really nicely, he can pour on the speed but has been mature enough to keep clocking points if he wasn't in a winning position.

With the drift video and so on, it seems him going to Red Bull was a masterstroke on both sides.

I might have to have a slice too. I tipped him for a ton of poles, a few race wins, but Whincup to school him on how to string a consistent season together.

While he may be a mathematical chance of winning it, it's a bloody long shot.

A miracle even.

A Triple 8 car has a 100% chance of winning it now:

3,089 points Shane Van Gisbergen
2,898 points Jamie Whincup

A championship race for 2 cars for the win, with 2 races & 300 points overall up for grabs.

Mr van Gisbergen could make it his on the Saturday.
