Could't resist and gave him a call. Even though he has lost out on Monaco he is not gutted. He is enjoying every minute of it.
So he is third on the gird for the first race tomorrow and if he finishes in the top 6 then he can race with the top thirty later in the day.
I won't tell you everything as I see an article in the making - enough to say that it felt like being a bullet shot out of a gun and the track is like Thruxton through trees.

So keep your fingers crossed...

Well there are advantages to being in Italy - no Skeletor or Kermit trying their hardest, just 29 lunatics.

So Rick - good start, get in front and stay there and let the others sort themselves out.

Rick finished 20 out of 36 - he was helped into various gravel traps but I'll let him fill in the gory details tomorrow

Surfice to say he enjoyed himself immensely!!

Well done mate!

It's a good job I taught him to say "una grossa macchina mi ha tagliato la strada" 'cos the rest of the grid seem to think that racing Clios is a contact sport...

Good job I reckoned on this and added "Fatti controllare anche la testa!" as well in case of any 'discussions' later... ;-)

I feel an article coming on... watch Parc Ferme... hoping for some scannable photos later today, but have decided not to post the ones of my naked torso sunbathing in the Monza sunshine out of respect for all those people who were freezing their **** off at Donny watching Chris!
Now Tues AM and I still fell totally shell shocked by the whole experience...
Thanks for all the calls and txt support over the weekend, it was good to know I hadn't been forgotten!

Yeah, well done bloke!! We'll try and catch you at Spa the week before Le Mans. Woo hoo!!

I wouldn't worry too much about missing Monaco either - you're likely to regret the damage repair bills there more than anywhere else in the world...

I'm sure I recognise that picture on Issue 23 Parc Ferme

Glad you are enjoying yourself, Rick. Have fun and the rest is a bonus.
