750mc - Oulton Park 6th Sept
Does anyone know why the 750mc meeting at Oulton this Saturday will be minus several of it's better championships.
I've noticed from their www that the hot & stock hatches won't be there? Unfortunately, it does look like a bit of a dreary meeting. Mark |

Stock and Hot Hatches were at Lydden Hill last week (great place), Silverstone (I think) the week before and Mallory a couple of weeks before that. They will probably re-building or stealing new ones in time for the Cadwell GP circuit meeting in a couple of weeks.
That WON'T be dreary |

The only disappointment was the tubs of lard, er 'Minis'; I've seen them things driven more aggressively on the M60 - maybe the competitors should be required to drive with a mobile phone in one hand & a fag in the other! (And to avoid confusion, 'fag' in this context means a cigarette!) Last edited by Dave Brand; 7 Sep 2003 at 09:25. |

Very unlike the 750mc I know, but this was a poor meeting by their standards. I think the weather played a part, but I came away wishing I had gone to Donny instead! No lunch break really either. 28 mins to be exact - but I was asked to stay on post and meet the clerk for something I had reported, so my break was curtailed even more! (Sobs into tissue!) On a more serious note - does anyone know how the FVee driver who had a moment at Clay Hill is? Mark |

I know Charlie Riley and Pat Sherrington came off badly at the end of the day.

It was a shambles though, none of the drivers were sure what was going, neither did any officials when asked.
And to declare it void when 9 laps had been run was shocking. |

I wasn't aware there were two cars involved, but it appeared to be quite serious Mark |

And no you can't blame me for all the incidents as I was on the recovery truck. I thought it was a good day - not quite 750 standard, but I don't think the weather helped much!! Yes I did get wet and yes I did nearly lose it with a C of C (for all those listening on radios!). Hopefully full service resumed on Saturday when I'm on the bank again |

Nothing to do with the thread but since it's about Oulton... Happy Birthday Ian Lewis!
