Jump Starting vintage car
I have a 1936 Riley 9 Special with two brush dynamo and Lucas regulator.
If I jump start it from my modern pick-up and leave the jump leads connected with both engines running,am I going to do any damage to either vehicle electrics system? Both systems 12 volt,Riley +ve earth ,the Mazda -ve,but obviously I connect to correct polarity. Lister ![]() |

Thank you,I was concerned that the alternator's 14 volts might fry the dynamo!
