Lorretta should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Stratton races at Rockingham

Just a quick update for all you SYW crew and anyone else who followed the "Be an F1 Driver" on tv this year. Stratton raced at Rockingham on the 21st September in the Ginetta series. He drove the car for the first time on the 19th when he arrived for his test session. Qualifying was on Sunday where he managed to get 6th on the grid. He was driving in one of the two factory owned Grand Turismo 4 team cars. Stratton made a really bad start and dropped from 6th to 10th . . Throughout, the laps positions were changing fast. He clawed his way up into 3rd but was taken on the final lap by two cars after nearly being pushed into the wall. Stratton finished in a most respectable 5th and even got some silverware for his efforts. It was a great race to watch and for his first race should be very proud of himself. I think people thought that he was all mouth and was just the lad off a tv comp. He shocked a fair few people on Sunday and got very positive feed back.
Well done Stratton

Well done! That's a great result

If we'd known you were about, we would have come and said hi - Chris was racing the Maestro on the Saturday.

Will you be at Donnington next month as Stratton will be there supporting the Ginettas. He is interested in getting into the Maestros next season so if you are going to be there maybe Stratton and Chris could have a chat.

Well done to Stratton and thanks to his family and all at Ginetta cars for their support. Stratton has attended most of the races of the others and organised get togethers for fellow SYW competitors.

Neil Purdie will be at Donnington on 18/19th October.

regards

James

Cheers for the support everyone.

The Ginetta experience was superb, a great family day out and a realisation for myself of a lifelong dream. The TV prog may not have been to everyones taste but it has served me well and opened doors, giving me not only this opportunity but options for the future.

Special thanks to my family and new found friends, you know who you are and i owe you.
