inpitlane should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Lola T610 On the road!

There were to my knowledge only two Lola T610s ever built and both of them are here in Australia.
One races regularly in local Historic Racing but the other sits in a workshop in inner Melbourne waiting for it's transformation into a Road car!.
Local racer Bob Gill is the man behind the project and you can have a look at it via the latest In Pit Lane podcast at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/M...st?id=82362745
Footage from this years Phillip Island Historics is coming as soon as I can get around to it.

That would be an interesting prospect on the road to say the least! I wonder how you would get it to comply with ADRs?

I also would have to ask the question why you would want to drive it on the road rather than a race track?

An Aussie called Terry Cooke owned one for a while, maybe still does. I think this was the ex-Edwards one. The other, ex Cooke-Woods, was later owned by John Bartlett and raced as a C2 from 1984 for a year or 2. Which is now the road one?

Terry Hook (Deceased) owned the first one which runs in Historics with a six litre chev. The ex Bartlett car is the one Bob Gill is converting for Road use.

The ex-Terry Hook car is HU1. Now driven by Peter Harburg in Historic Racing here in Oz. As driftwood said, it is the ex-Guy
Edwards/Rupert Keegan car, now running a 6L Chev, Lucas/Kinsler injection etc.

I believe that it is now looked after by Wayne Eckersley (ex-Williams during Alan Jones stint there, ex-March where he built the six wheeler March 761 (4 driven wheels at the rear)).

It must have been Wayne then who was kind enough to tell me a bit about the car as he was cleaning some oil off the front of it (that had come from the car ahead) at Philip Island earlier in the year. It's the way the racers & crew are willing to engage with the mere spectator that makes historic racing a much friendlier atmosphere than other racing and why I mainly go to historic meets

I don't remember it in 2005, I remember John Bowe driving it for Peter Harburg in 2006 though, 99% sure it was Bowe in '06.

JB certainly has driven the car in the past. I think he drove it at PI in February 2006. Peter drove it at PI in Feb 2007.
