Talk about going full circle. Not only does Indycar ape CART, they are going to ape CART formally as well. But that's no good with Mad King George at the top.

IndyCar running twice in Italy, without Dodge / SRT / Fiat engined cars? I would think 2014 is more realistic. That's if Marchionne allows the investment to promote their brands in IndyCar.

The chassis supplier is Dallara, an Italian company.

The daily mail interviewed Pippa, with the headline: "How I survived the 200mph fireball that melted my flesh and killed my best friend". I won't link to the article. No sane person would read that terrible tabloid garbage.

That is actually the headline. Unreal. 'First woman in world famous Indycar' was also headlined. Double unreal.

If anywhere, they should race IndyCars at Brands Hatch, Lausitzring and Dijon-Prenois because that's a road course even the oval specialists would like.
But Mugello, why not? Let's hope it's not another street race. They have too many right now. |

To be honest, it would be a pleasure to see the cars at Portimao, Paul Richard, Imola, RB-ring and Lausitzring!

Well, F1 doesn't have a French race presently, so the chances for that course may not be as low as you'd think. He certainly has no problem letting Sportscars and GTs run there, or World Series by Renault.

I believe the French GP, when it happens, is going to alternate with Spa. Other series do race there but then we all know Bernie's love of money. I suppose he might let IndyCar race there if he doesn't see it as a threat, which he certainly did during the CART era.

That was the plan, but the French GP is on the back burner again, and Spa is on the calendar every year through 2015 now.

Good Gawd! Every season a rumor starts about IndyCar Triumphantly Returning to Europe and we are treated with misplaced speculation of the possibilities for every track from Brooklands to the Nordschliefe.
IndyCar is more likely to show up at Nelson Ledges than it is to arrive at Brands, Paul ricard or Buckmore Park. |

News Just In: Indycar for Mars and Mercury flyover 2013. Martian authorities finally give permission for an oval around Olympus Mons with Tony George having pledged his son as security.

Come on now. If we're being serious about the heritage of the Chamionship Trail with this, it needs to be the Olympian Hillclimb up Olympus Mons.
JohnSSC, nobody that I've seen has posted any proposed venues quite that ludicrous. You get thoughts of returning to venues that USAC/CART have gone to overseas, and a smattering of other major circuits in those countries and maybe a few others. At least there have been real talks in this case, and Mugello beats the pants off of the Brands Indy circuit (perhaps not the GP loop, but certainly the short course). No, the real crazy talk gets saved for F1, and things like going to Bathurst, which I've actually rather been having fun with that one. |
