Anti-Felipe Massa technology in proposed standard leccymobile power lead

http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/05/21/rwe_plug/
If a world standard is selected surely this would be the start of the electric car taking off? However, will it be a world standard or will it be like certain things, a world standard that the US refuses to participate? Chevrolet want to get the proposed US standard up and running before the Voltz is released in 2010.

Unless charging can be done quickly, a standard user replacable battery could be useful. Flow batteries are a non-starter.
