Several sources claim that at least 2 of the EKS S1 cars have been purchased by the Belgian team Comtoyou Racing. French Benoît Tréluyer and Belgian Enzo Ide will apparently drive for the team in WRX 2018.

There is a group on Facebook called Enthusiasts of Höljes RX where people share articles and posts related to rallycross and especially WRX and ERX. Two different sources were posted and shared in the group.
One is from rallycross.no that wrote on Facebook that a team, with a pic referring to Comtoyou, had bought EKS cars and were to run them. The other source was a pic of a text where someone had wrote that he or she had read on the internet, although not confirmed, that the cars were bought by Comtoyou and that they would field two cars for the drivers mentioned above. It was not visible in the pic who had written the text. |

Progress? I see little progress, losing Ford, Audi, and perhaps one or two others is not progress. The series stagnated massively last year.
That is part of the reason why they are pushing electric, in a desperate effort to get manufacturers, that is all IMG cares about, literally ALl. |

Hope they have at least the same number of cars as last year. This was the minimum to have a nice event!
In this case, we need some new teams/drivers... At the moment there are more "-" then "+" with just 2.5 months to go. Let's hope for some good news next week from EKS. If it was bad news, they would cover in silence... |

EKS have been posting videos and pics since the season ended and was supposed to announce something in December. There have also been lots of rumours of them staying and building new cars.

Only problem would be the DTM race in Hockenheim and WRX in Buxtehude is on the same date; 13 & 14 october 2018.

Was just coming here to post that! Shame for Nitiss, hopefully he will find a drive elsewhere.
I have read a few comments online about Timur Timerzyanov at EKS. Apparently Timur hasn't been at the recent STARD test sessions? |

Some news about Andreas Bakkerud:
https://parcferme.no/nyheter/andreas...rallycross-vm/ If I understood it correctly he hasn't signed any sponsorship deals. So obviously he would be able to join a Red Bull backed team like Peugeot-Hansen or EKS. He also reveals that he talked to every team apart from PSRX. |

PSRX thought of having three cars for a while and Solberg was positive to putting Bakkerud in one of them. The plans were shelved though due to the extra costs.

I saw EKS posted yesterday a video on their FB. The Audi not had Red Bull logos on it anymore. So it seems EKS lost its Red Bull sponsorship.
What I think about the WRX, till 2017 it was growing, though i think the biggest problem was/is the dominance of the VW team in 2017 (and with that the rising budgets as well). This made Block/Ford leave, and possible EKS/Audi as well, and next to that Peugeot was considering stopping. The same is happening in the GRX. The Beetles are to dominant there. |

Does Bakkerud have Monster sponsorship at all?
The team he was driving was Monster, as Block is a Monster man... Same for Timerzyanov, he had RedBull sponsorship before he went to team Hansen, he left, an RedBull stayed at Hansen... |

I think Bakkerud had it when he raced for Doran, but it was far smaller than Gatebil boys logo.
Did not have it at Eriksson |

I must admit I assumed that the sponsors were with the drivers rather than the teams. As you guys have rightly pointed out though, there are a few examples where the sponsor has stayed with the team, so perhaps there is more chance of Bakkerud at EKS than I thought. Ekstrom, Bakkerud, Timerzyanov and Larsson in four new EKS S1's would be perfect news on Monday. |

It would be a surprise for Ekstrom not to have Red Bull backing - the rallycross cars had it last year, he's been in a Red Bull backed DTM car for years and when he was rallying he had Red Bull backing on the car too.
