Nordic Supercar

What did you think of this year's Nordic Supercar season? Personally I think it's great to see Swedish/Norweigan GT on the rise again after a few difficult years. It does seem to depend on what series they run with; the STCC weekend was great! For you who have no idea what I'm talking about; www.nordicsupercar.com

Several new team and cars have shown strong interest for Nordic Supercar 2007. After a genial deliberation from Autoart Motorsport got the board something brutal and beautiful to look and to intend on…
The board works etc. new cars for its approving before 2007.
Information about Porschen from Autoart Motorsport:

Design, aerodynamik oc

rough translation.

They keep on changing the website from comparatively easy to navigate to hard to figure out.

They had a forum where I once asked how the chassis rules were set-up, and go a reply that he would gladly give me an answer shortly, when suddenly all non-local language posts were erased.
Never heard back.

I am not sure how the rules are set-up; they used to have a weight to displacement chart, but now some cars are appearing to be Trans-Am type cars where before the cars were mod. prod., some being similar to old IMSA GTX cars.

This was Jimmy Bohlins old Corvette. It used to be Earnhart black, before Thomas bought it.

The racing was better last year, and the site used to post full results, I wonder why the do not do that now.

Are you sure? The C14 was owned by Henrik Roos until 2004 and was then sold to Zwaans Racing (with Henrik as a driver).
One of the Zwaans Vipers goes to sweden (but not sure that this viper is the former Roos viper), the other one to in the czech endurance championship.

How big were the grids this year?

I think it was around that. The penultemate round saw quite a bit of carnage though, so they were a bit less numerous in the final. Seems like we're getting an Opel Calibra on the gird next year!

In Pärnu Estonia there were only 5 Nordic Supercars in the grid but fortunately there were additional 10 Baltic GT cars.

It is the C16 of Alfab Racing (This one). The C14 is (still) for sale in the Czech Republic.

As this is now going to be an official FIA series of the Skandinavian region, I wonder if the FIA will still allow such unique vehicles as

or

But the FIA is far more accomodating than the ACO so one would hope so.

Well... Baltic GT already is (or was?) FIA NEZ championship and while there are cars like SRT Escort (Aluminium honeycomb monocoque, Indycar gearbox...):

BMW M1 (with 1.5-litre F1 turbo power):

plus other... hmmm... exotic supercars, I guess Studebaker and Lotus are ok too

I guess the only thing the series needs then is a sugar daddy to put up prize money.
Maybe there is some Russian out there with money burning a hole in his pocket.

I did too, so I mailed them a question about it. The reason is that they changed webiste from the old one (was it Supercar.no?) to the current, and they've been working on other things. The results are out there somewhere though.

Well, things seem to be hotting up for the 2007 season. Some new teams joining:

Görgen Olsson (Snap-on Racing) - Mercedes CLK 55 AMG
Lars Malmros - TBA (Drove the Opel Calibra in SLC this year but have sold it, new car?)
TBA (Beastpower?) - BMW M5
TBA - Porsche spaceframe project

Per-Erik Axelhult's ST BMW is going to Germany and is being replaced by a Chevrolet Camaro Z28. Otherwise I expect Bohlin, ALFAB and the others to be back? Also, it seems like they could have some races togeather with STCC.

Pertti Kuismanen is confirmed for 2007, in a Dodge Viper. Now there's one going for the win!

Is Bohlin going to be running this years?

Do you have any idea why they no longer race at teh Arctic Circle Speedway?

Heck, in June, they could have a 24 hour race there and not need headlights.

Per-Erik Axelhult to race in a Chevy Camaro: here's a picture of it. Lookin' good!

http://www.nordicsupercar.com/bilder..._stora/609.jpg

Also, Nordic Supercar will support STCC at two weekends this season (Anderstorp and Våler).

Entry list so far:
Per-Erik Axelhult / Chevrolet Camaro
Pertti Kuismanen / Chrysler Viper GTS-R
Görgen Ohlsson / Mercedes CLK 55 AMG
Johan Weglin / Saab 9-3 GTss BioPower (expected)
Autoart Motorsport Porsche 911 (based on a 962 by the way)
Beastpower BMW M5

I would expect the BMW M1 to be back, it hasn't missed a season yet (as far as I know). ABS Mototsport could either do Carrera Cup or NS (or both, as they did this year). They have a 996, and with the 997's coming to CC will ABS have the budget to buy a new one? Otherwise I would expect ALFAB (Behrens/Viper), Hauge/Chevrolet and perhaps a few more to be back?
