rumors that the 488 GT3 costs 500000 €. That would represents an increase of 30% compared to the 458 (Assuming both prices have VAT included).

Quoted prices don't usually include VAT do they?

Really shame about the Lexus, it would have been good to see it join the ranks officially. Hope this doesn't throw off any prospective N24 or TUSC programme, although it's basically certain not to run in BES next year now. Japan's motorsport reputation feels like it's taking a hammering at the moment, with this added to the HPD P2, the Nissan P1, the Honda F1 and WTCC programmes, the Toyota performance at Le Mans this year and the PR mess TMG is making of their upcoming WRC commitment.

I don't think that was unexpected, also remember, that brings a basic spares package.

What pr mess is TMG making? PM me to avoid drifting off topic. Hopefully next year the Japanese make a huge splash. I see the RC F improving a good deal by then. It needs to.

What do you guys think, will that AC Cobra GT3 (and GTE) car ever show up?

I really hope so to be honest. Would look amazing, just like the Morgan GT3's did.

Well, I am not sure but the spares kit contains spare parts in case you crash it and what not

the endurance kit , I heard the term during this year's Spa 24 when Marc VDS and Barwell were changing pads and they commentators mentioned the Marc VDS had the Endurance Kit, which enabled them to change them quicker amongst other things.

More on the Lexus RC F situation from racer.com. My thoughts go back to the road car its based on. The RC F chassis is a mix of Lexus IS-C (convertible) and Lexus GS. Its not a brand new specifically made chassis for the car. I wonder if the issue is trying to make it lighter but keep it stiff enough for racing?

May I ask (I have no knowledge on it), what's wrong with the Lexus GT3 project?

If it's that bad then they should merge it with the Mazda LMP "effort" and just have a team of badness.

Possibly, as the road car is quite the larger lady. Bentley have made it work with the Conti though, and Nissan with the GTR, which are both far from being light cars.

I seem to remember reading somewhere (here?) that it was the engine that was the biggest issue for Lexus

I think it might be tough to get the weight down on the car but keep it raceable. Like I said earlier, the chassis is a mix of GS front, IS convertible backbone and IS sedan rear. Thats my theory. Maybe its good for a road car but might be a little problematic for a race car? Pruett says it will still run in 2016, but not at Daytona and possibly not Sebring?

I doubt we'll get to see the car in action Stateside - and if we do it'll be towards the end of the year, not before the summer and probably only after it as IMSA would need to create it's own BoP for this car. Maybe an unclassified run at the Petit next year?

On mwm it was said a manufacturer can pay the FIA for a rehomologation test (if theyre in favor). So that might be on the table for Lexus if they make the improvements they want over the rest of this year and early '16?

Forgive me if this has been covered in the thread already, but who is the new manufacturer coming to GT3 referred to on MWM this week? Jag?

On a completely unrelated note, what happened to the HSVs? I love those things.

Jag is already in GT3 with Emil Ray Racing. Scored quite well at Nurburgring in the last BES race.

As a privateer effort though, rather than as a 'manufacturer'. I was thinking F-Type GT3?

If not Jag then who?
