Peter Yates
This is a little belated, but I just heard about it today. On January 9th Peter Yates, English director (81), died in London.
Peter was the director of the great film Breaking Away but more importantly in my mind, Bullitt. This movie has been very important to me as it fueled my interest in cars and therefore motorsport. For those that don't know, Bullitt has the greatest car chase scene ever filmed and features a '68 Mustang GT 390 vs. a '68 Dodge Charger 440. I'm sad to hear of his passing and appreciate his contributions to the film and automotive world. Count the hubcaps off the Charger for Peter! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWgR2vYE2_o |
