I gather this is likely to be a hybrid, in the same lines as the Toyota Supra HV-R hybrid, that won the Tokachi 24-Hour Race last year. It used a four-wheel energy regeneration and drive system which included 10 kW in-wheel motors in the front wheels in addition to one 150 kW rear-axle mounted electric motor.

I take it the car will be raced by the Lexus/Toyota factory itself. Team Toyota Europe? Does Lexus actually have a motorsport division?

In the Super GT series of Japan, Toyota has switched race car Toyota Supra to Lexus SC430.
But the lexus car has been built by TRD(Toyota Racing Development) as usual.
TRD is a motorsport division of the subsidiary company(Toyota Technocraft) of Toyota.
Lexus does not have an independent motorsport division from Toyota at present.

And, I do not trust the hybrid system.
It is true that Supra won the championship by the Tokachi 24h race.
However, to tell the truth, Toyota was making the hybrid car(on the market base) enter the race in the previous year, too.
Whenever the pit in was done, the car was cooling with the dry ice!

Satorian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
From the side it looks like a bloated C6.

The design isn't really my cup of tea, but I would still like to see the car on the track. I wouldn't mind a GT2 version either.

Looks and that V10 sounds great. Needs a bigger rear wing, one that goes side to side.

Lexus motorsports in north America is run by TRD.

As far as I know this car isn't a hybrid! It has a V10 with over 500 hp.

Quote:
As with its coupe counterpart, the LF-A Roadster is powered by a radical, lightweight, all-alloy V10 powerplant capable of developing more that 500 DIN hp from a cubic capacity of less than 5.0L. The V10’s front-mid engine placement, along with a rear-mounted transmission and rear-mounted radiators, allows for perfect front/rear weight distribution. The engine is connected to the transmission via a torque tube and propeller shaft, and gear changing is controlled by a high-speed, steering wheel-mounted, semi-automatic paddle shift system. The torque tube itself acts as a structural member, adding rigidity to the drivetrain and chassis whilst minimising drive-train vibration. Allied to optimum gearing, weight and aerodynamics, the drive-train is designed to afford the vehicle a maximum speed in excess of 320km/h.

@courageous, why do you think the Lexus is a Hybrid? Because I don't think the LF-A is a Hybrid.

Slight off topic but what are the chances of a Falken liveried GT-R for 09?
