Stroll.

For a young lad he kept his loaf while others were losing theirs and in my view was a moral second place, as Bottas benefited from that stupid free pass rule

Arise Sir Lancelot - great to see the young bloke have a good result after all the mud that's been flung his way.

Honorable mention to Dani Ric - as always, just never seems to give up and results do come his way.

Like many when Stroll was first signed by Williams I thought 'rich kid', but his demeanour under fierce criticism, and his subsequent performances have changed my mind. He has quietly proved me (at least) wrong, and is in sharp contrast to another 'Teenage Whiz Kid' whose arrogance and disregard for others opinion combined with a tendency to blame everyone else for his problems is one of his finest qualities.

I vote for Lance Stroll.

Stroll.

Made the most of the opportunity and didn't bin it when the pressure was on in the final few laps. Everyone else was pretty much either 'as expected' or 'had a nightmare'.

That's quote of the thread right there.

This is one of those ones where I'd like to award it to 2 drivers. Ricciardo gets it as he still had to come back from a long way to win it - and he is the only one to win in something other than a Mercedes or Ferrari.

Kudos to Stroll - sure hope Ms Williams didn't barf too much watching that!

Except the one where he waffled Kimi out of the race on the first lap.

It was his Bottas' own fault that he was that far back in the first place. Then he was gifted a lap back by the safety car. After that he just used the arguably the fastest car out there to pick off the survivors as everyone else had their own moment of stupidity.

I just watched the start again and it's a bit odd the way Bottas careered into Kimi. It looks like Bottas lost grip and didn't have full control of the car.

He'd clattered over the kerb and that unsettled the car - he then bounced into Kimi.

I've seen that sort of thing happen at the start of IndyCar street races. It can get a bit hectic and space is a premium. The Azerbaijan GP, was so like an IndyCar street race.
