No, there were one or two others lunatics - I think I was the only one taking eastern loop flat though...
Going 2 wide through Hungry was starting to reach the limits of my bravery (or is that stupidity! ) What a warm up for Bathurst!! Crash Test, a pity you're not coming down, a weekend away with the MX5 boys is a unique (and liver killing) experience! |

There's a piece on it in the latest Auto Action
In essence, 1963-74 V8 Muscle cars from the USA, talking Camaros, Mustangs, Pontiacs etc. The opening round at QR the other week had a field of about 15 cars, and the roar was just awesome! |

Did anyone fall foul of the noise meter? I hear they are very strict due to the neighbours.

Late to the party here, but would those upgrades allow for V8s? And would it replace the current ****ty paperclip (heres hoping) or maybe be an additional round?

Lakeside back in the news again http://www.news.com.au/c0,23739,2566...iermail/story/
Quote "Meanwhile, QML also confirmed it would spend almost $1 million leasing the Lakeside motor-racing track north of Brisbane to test free-flow tolling systems. Ms Alvarez said the 10-year agreement, costing $90,000 a year, meant it did not have the "huge expense" of building its own facility. The Sunday Mail understands a driver safety company leasing Lakeside paid only $8000 a year" $90K per year is a big investment. Lets hope that the money is put to good use at this historic place. |

Hats off to all those that kept the fight going to keep this track alive with their time and money. It's great to see it back functioning and alive and well. Can't wait to see it on my next visit.

The official reopening was held on the weekend and it was a brilliant meeting.
There was a genuine 4000 punters through the gate over the weekend, and the racing was first class with very little biffo (except for Friday...). A highlight was the racing cars, Tony Quinn battling with Chris Farrell in their Ralt RT4s doing 51s.... amazing to watch them race that close without contact. The second half of the meeting is on next weekend, Trams Ams, HQs, Future Racers/Sports Cars, Sidecars etc, will be massive! Don't forget to bring a radio- the PA is now over FM 88.6. More pics can be found here |

Formula Vee's are also on next weekend. Great to have Lakeside having proper club level racing again! IMO by far still the best race track in Australia.

Went out on Sunday, GREAT day, like the good old days- take the esky, bbq, deck chairs in the back of the ute, then got Gary to drive us home,
None of this sit up straight in your stadium seats boys & girls and pay outragous prices for food and drink. Fantastic Gemini races- some one out there has bonnet & grill of mine...... gtho over rated then, over priced now |
