What is true to one person may not be true to another.

What was accurate and correct information immediately before a meeting with a driver/sponsor/manufacturer may not then be accurate and correct to the same extent after said meeting.

You just don't know if prodrive and/or Penske are looking for 'permission' from the fanbase to change from the Ford brand... and pointing at a journo can be an opportune way to do just that...

Maybe, perhaps, possibly...

Phelps didn't say anything wrong last night.

He said Lowndes was off contract and asked the panel if they thought he could end up at Penske.

This time he asked a question rather than making a statement.

Fair call, but he did start his question with "tomorrow's headline"

Murph was quick to poo poo it.

I don't disagree that alot of what he writes is garbage, but he's not the only one doing it and it doesn't only happen in motorsport, or only in sport in general. If he was going to get sacked for his Mustang article, thousands of other journalists above him would have been sacked beforehand

I'm still waiting for Mark Winterbottom, who was quoted in this article that is apparently, according to mceci1, untrue, to comment on the article.

PRA were looking at Toyota at one stage, that seems to have dissolved and moved to Team 18 in Toyota

I don't like many journalists like Phelps, but at least Fogarty and those type get what they say accurate most of the time. I didn't initially have an issue with Phelps, but last year his comments proved he was a clown

As far as I know he did clarify, may be wrong. PRA and Penske aren't revealing anything other than at this stage 2018 is Falcon. Wise given the situation with Ford.

TMH money is not coming from TMCA themselves.

There was some rumours that they had spoken about it as a possibility but you are right they're two different companies with different marketing agendas. There was also a rumour that Walkishaw had sought them out

Toyota are more likely to re-enter the Australian Rally Championship than re-enter our premier road racing series.

TMH backing a Holden is no different to when Hyundai Heavy Industries sponsored the TKR Holden in the mid-2000s, or Mitsubishi Electric sponsoring Chris Smerdon's Holden in the mid-90s. Means absolutely nothing as far as those car brands entering the series.

I think hypothetically if they were to enter it would more likely be under the Lexus brand

If they were ever to enter, they'd go with team that can do the whole show; aero, engines, etc, as opposed to a plug & play customer arrangement in PHR.

One if the stories out of PI today, had Jaguar potentially in the mix for a Gen2 opportunity. The story goes that the existing Ford V8 powerplant may be suitable for this car given the connection between Ford/Tata.

Suspect that it is complete speculation, yet you can see something of a VE Commodore in the pic...

We shall see..

If Jaguar entered, they would have to be with Walkinshaw surely, the history in the sport and Mr Courtney who drove a fast one a few times.....

Jaguar the latest brand getting linked to the series? Has their been any further word on Bob Jane's efforts to bring a Mercedes into the series, with the specific aim of winning Bathurst next year?

While a Jag entry would be great, any Walkinshaw tie up is a LONG way in the past and not very relevant to the current ownership structure.

I would also assume that any new manufacturer that Walkinshaw Racing ran with, they would want to be linked with a performance road car program with the same marque?

There was a rumour Walkinshaw performance could start working with Toyota. An article I posted earlier in this thread mentioned Ryan as been spotted at Toyota HQ

You could turn up for a job interview, but it doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the gig.

Spotted by who exactly? And why or who has drawn the bow that Walkinshaw at Toyota HQ (if true...) means they were talking about entering Supercars? Maybe he wanted to buy a fleet of Hi-Aces for delivery vehicles for Walkinshaw Performance?

Currently the marques that have been linked to Supercars that have been no-shows have been: Chrysler, Toyota, Lexus, Alfa, Jaguar, (official)Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Mitsubishi.

Hasn't been a Ford link for years. Tata bought JLR outright and turned it into a massive success story . 600ish? Sales a year in Australia? Hardly the basis for an expensive SC projet - unfortunately. ...
