dulon should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It's OFFICIAL- Coulthard confirms on live telly

Well it was great to hear Mr Coulthard refer to the fact that F1 has become as good as formula ford racing, not once but a couple of times during the commentating of the Chinese GP !

Do you think he's hoping to come and have a go in the classics or pre 90's ?

FA73 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I remember racing my Van Diemen FA73 at Snetterton in 1989 in Pre 74 FF1600 and David Coulthard and his team were parked next to us in the Paddock. He was racing a Van Diemen RF89 in one of the junior FF1600 series, and at that point he had already won several races.

He came across as friendly and modest despite this early success when I had a chat with him. He proceeded to win that days FF1600 race comfortably as well.... Fast, tidy and very consistent - it was clear he was going places...

I am not sure who Cooper Racing are (or what a Vetec is); he was run by David Leslie senior in 1989 in the Junior Championships with the car always well prepared & reliable. Kelvin Burt was really unlucky to come up against him as in any other year he would have stood out rather than usually finishing second.

Note sponsorship from Haytor-Coulthard. His dad said his 1st GP with Williams was the 1st race he hadn't paid for one way or the other, Pastor's dad probably has reason to feel aggrieved.........

Having seen the first round of the British FFord championship at Oulton I'm minded to agree with him.

I'm sure DC was referring to the halcyon days of proper Formula Ford a.k.a FF1600 (Kent).
All Fords subsequent attempts at sales market led Formula Ford classes, i.e. Zetec, Duratec and EcoBoost have been something of a failure, whilst Kent FF1600 continues to thrive.
There has to be a lesson there somewhere.
