castle combe track day marshaling

Hi

I have been marshaling for 8 years now and as I have found myself with a lot more time on my hands (and wanting to be out of the house) I have thought about doing some track day marshaling.
Can I ask you guys is it any different for normal race meeting znd what things do I need to know? Also if anyone has any contacts and any circuits that would be great too.

Track day marshalling is basically the same as race days, all the same safety rules apply.

The main difference is the number of marshals on duty, at a Castle Combe race meeting there would be 150 or so marshals, at a track day you have about 10-15.

So it is a great way to get some hands on experience!

You can just turn up at the main Castle Combe action days to help, you don't need to book in advance.

At the week day closed track days, these are done by paid marshals, so you have to be on the books to do these, mostly done by the older retired guys who just sit in their cars all day and watch the traffic.

But the big Action Days are great fun!
