Vern Schuppan

I know Vern Schuppan raced at Bathurst over the years, but what else did he race in Australia?

Got to Europe young, stayed there, and he ran in US and Japan, eventually as a team owner, and briefly become a constructor of same very rapid road registerred supercars.

He did Bathurst a few times, with the Bryan Byrt team (later to evolve into Dick Johnson Racing) and also with the Holden Dealer Team.

Thought's just occurred that I think he came out of retirement for some of the 'Formula Adealide' races for historic Tasman era Grand Prix machinery that supported the first couple of Adelaide 500s.

He ran in a gull wing Merc at the Le Mans Classic. Apart from leaving silver paint on my TR as he overtook me on the outside at Tetre Rouge in practice, he turned out to be a nice bloke.

I remember interviewing Vern at Speed on Tweed in 2006 for the DVD. Did he drive anything that weekend except for the parades?
