Ha ha love it! Hey have a quick look at this vid, this was done at Daytona last year which is why it was closed and also why the Clerk who gave us a pep talk said any one dropping oil would immediately be black flagged and off, makes the doctors efforts at Snetterton look a little pale (although he also did a great job). Still playing up btw, http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=trwHfsIgqMI

morninggents should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Could do with some of those lads and machines round here - the roads are a blooming disgrace!

Liked the music - any idea what it was. Also noticed the green and white VW camper looking totally out of place at the 4-10 mark - those things get everywhere.

Al, they were pretty hot on dropped oil anyway - when my oil cooler got taken out by the Porsche I pulled off (as you do) and they chased me back into the paddock with this buggy and fire/spill crew. They wouldn't let me help and even cleaned the car off!!

My winter project is the IROC at long last and its a bit of an undertaking. I bought some twisted wire brush that go on to a 4inch angle grinder and they are doing a fair job, I know prehaps I should have it bead blasted but I keep hearing for and against. I have all the rear axle and suspension off, all the wiring and dash (Penske were not very good at wiring as its a bit of a mess eyeopener really). Got the steering column out and now got to remove the front suspension and steering. Does anyone know if spares are still available for Hurst Airheart brakes? I would like to renew all the seals throughout.

Dont know about the brakes but if you want someone to do the wiring contact Andy Pipe , he did my Escort and made a fantastic job, done a lot of practice plus the Barry race ar Spa and havent even had to replace a bulb, plus everything still working perfect.

Maybe that's why they have a few glitches with some of the toys fitted?

wiring ? I thought it was an Albatross nest!

Al, find a sensible blasters and get it done with glass bead or something less abrasive, my TT chassis is only thin wall tubing and came up well. alternatively, get it dipped without all the fancy additives put on, its half the price.

Might give them a ring about that, see if they can do the same for my 'B' on the odd (!) occasion that it won't start.

Brands should learn something from that, I holed a sump and came into the parc ferme and it was pouring out I ran around trying t find a drip tray or something and there was nothing around so it empted about 8 litres of oil on to the floor!

On a completely different note, I thought that I'd let you know that Kevin has been promoted to Features Editor at Autosport but Historic coverage remains in safe hands as Ben Anderson takes over as National Editor, and we have all done a good job of converting him to 'our' cause. Kev will still have some input in his new role and, of course, amongst the established reporters/contributors, Marcus remains a key component.

you sure know how to have a good time Al

I did a dry build of a front corner yesterday morning, damned fiddly all those fulcrum bits, and I turned down some bushes for the new later trunions instead of re-using the old ones which aren't handed. . .
