John apparently 'suspended' himself for one race as a punishment after making contact with his team-mate, Nick Beaumont, at Donington at the past race...

John Batchelor should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There is an element of truth in this you know! Every race this year, I have said to Nick..."OK we don't want panel damage! and most of all we don't want panel damage from our team mate!" Frankly I was so suprised to have kept up with him for lap 1 at Donington that I couldn't believe that I actually hit him going into the chicane! The pit/car radio was very funny Nick said " I can't believe it John has just ******* run into me!" my radio was silent for half a lap and then this plaintif little voice says " say sorry to Nick I hit him going into the chicane" as if he didn't know.
So, when the opportunity to run Joanna in the car came along, it seemed reasonable to suspend myself for hitting Nick!

Glad you don't blame it on the dodgy crowd that support the team giving you to many beers or dodgy sausages

Too many beers are not a problem! Too many sausages are not a problem....unless Lorna Cooked them!! (I still haven't forgiven her for asking me if I like Jelly babies then turning up at Silverstone with a bag of Jellyatrics!!)

Also, Mr. B&Q, what kind of a shifter do you have in your car? It would seem to me that it would be a sequential, but where is it mounted, on the floor, or next to the steering wheel? On Toca 2 (the computer game) all or most of the shifters are on the wheels, like the vauxhalls from 1994- on. Thanks, I apreciate it.

i'm not sure exactly about john's car but i think the production cars have a normal "H" box stick shift gear box, whereas the tourers have a sequential stickshift.

the supertourers used to have the column mounted paddle shift like in the game.
