Snetterton 2CV - 24hour 2005

As there's only 2 weeks to go until the first 24hour race in the UK race, it's about time for the "Who's going?" thread -as there'll invariably be a wide selection of tenthers marshalling, driving, cheering on, snapping...
As well as the 2CVs there's a (fairly) regular club racing day on Saturday too - timetable here
Baring problems, I'll be there for a break from revision (although I might be reading the books between laps...) - so who else will be there?

I'll be there as a photographer, for one of the support races, hopefully my pass extends to the 24 hour race, and hopefully I can put up a tent somewhere, if so I'll stay for the duration.

I've just had a thought Mike (rare event) - if you're not bothered about snapping after you've done your Formula Ford duties, you can make your marshalling debut that you were interested in making a bit ago. I think we're still a bit short so any help would be appreciated! Details in Marshals Forum. Ditto anyone else who could be interested - you might even get hooked and join the orange brigade for other meetings

I'll be there.

This year I'm going to try and not miss any of my duty slots and be early on post every time.

If the safety car spin's, does the following field have to as well?

Could be interesting for an observer to call in all those cars that spun and continued

I might not actually make this event, was originally planning on going because I was shooting the supports, turns out they are now on the Saturday. This means getting up quite early after a late shift, working at Snet in the morning/early after, leaving at 4 straight after the FFord race, to get to work for another late shift at 5.

Then my girlfriend wants to go out on Sunday, might aswell while we've got the chance, so maybe I'll head to Snet afterwards, or on Monday. But I might go elsewhere on Monday, so we'll see...

Like to see some of it, though as my mate said, it would probably get a bit dull after a few hours...

Anyone know if you can turn up at any time during the day or night for the event? I've got a media ticket, wondering if I could sign on in the early hours... I wouldn't mind getting some early morning/dawn shots, and then perhaps staying till the finish, if I can't make Sunday morning/afternoon.

Mike, I've read something somewhere that said that there is no public access during hours of darkness - I imagine that this is because the spectator areas aren't lit. I'm not sure what that means for media access. You might want to check with MSV's media people today if you're likely to get there.

I'll ask them tomorrow, I'll definitely be there then.

If I can't be trackside at night, it's probably not really worth going, that was the attractive factor for me!
