Is JW beatable this year?
Of course he is but based on form it will be very hard. I think my old mate Skaifey said Jamie has won 17 races out of the last 20, I don't think even Brocky managed that. Did u see the way he gapped the field after the last pace car? He wasn't even trying. Love to see JW and MA fighting it out in the same team

with two of the top 3 being holden drivers and 5 of the top 8 also being holden, i would suggest that the fords are struggling.
If it wasnt for one driver, Jamie, the fords would be in all sorts all do you mean penalise the driver |

yes he can be beaten someone just needs to take him out first corner seriously though hrt messed qualifying up in race two but they are probably the team most likely to take it to whincup and 888 consistently remember it is only round 2. will davison is in a pretty handy position considering he has had only a few drives in a hrt car.

What if Jamie did go through the whole season undefeated......that would make him the greatest of them all......and that would be heresy!

So does Marcos Ambrose, Rick Kelly, Todd Kelly, Heck, anyone that won their first Bathurst (or championship) before the age of 27 has more Bathurst wins then Peter Brock did at that age... and as for championships he didnt win one until after his first bathurst. Comparing different eras just doesnt work. I must say though, that Jamie's performances have been exceptionally good. Sure he has a fabulous car, the best in the field - but he's braining his team mate. Maybe Lowndes is the next Skaife. Lets just remember the last man to win Bathurst in a holden is now in the commentary box... could it be the last man to win Bathurst in a Ford will end up there in the not too distant future?? |

The HRT cars are 'twitchy and nervous' and are not in the same league. JW can 'gap' anyone he wants to at 0.5 second a lap in race trim, he builds a minimum of a 2 second margin and then drives at 95%. he did it ion adelaide and he did it in NZ All the others ahve to overdrive' to try and stay with the No 1 package Mike |

If you believe the hype Here Mr Whincup has offers for Le Mans, and from 2 other main game V8Supercar teams for 2010 and beyond.
Who would have the $$ to fund him?? FPR, HRT?? |

With the BTCC losing its last manufacturer (coincidentally also 888-run), the WTCC oversubscribed with drivers if not cars, and Le Mans contenders blowing in and out of the sport depending on marketing priorities not sporting ones...
.. you wouldnt want to play your "other options" hand too strongly I wouldnt think |

Methinks he has a "little" leverage at the moment, however GTR ...

Perhaps, but who can afford a $1m salary in this current climate?

The short answer is obviously no - but lets say Whincup wins the title again (looking likely), 888 win Bathurst again (who would bet against it?) and Lowndes car stops stopping and he hauls his way back up the top 3 in the title ... lots of bragging rights. Ford and Vodaphone would be doing quite nicely out of this pairing methinks - but perhaps the current salaries might be reversed shall we say?
