I think Gillette is much like WR is to proto's . You gotta respect them for being there all the time , and persevering with their project even if they probably wont get anyplace with it in Fia Gt .
Better suited to national GT series imo ..... |

it's a v8 now. And badger, its Gillet not gillette- as in "the best at bucharest in the wet" not "the best a man can get".

The problem with the Vertigo is that it isn't well suited to any international GT rules. The road car is very light, less than a ton in fact, but as a racer it has to carry a lot of ballast to meet the weight limit. This tends to negate any advantage that the chassis has. The old Alfa engine was always a bit underpowered to compete with GT2. Essentially, the car is GT3 spec, even though it is not allowed to race in FIA GT3 itself, due to there not being the required number of road cars.
The Maserati V8 in the latest version sounds great though, doesn't it? Last edited by geeteeone; 22 Apr 2008 at 16:14. |

Maybe those nice folks at Gillet will donate one to Mick and I...
But it is a great car and I love the spirit that they bring to the racing. I am always slightly fearful that they will not turn up the next season and happy that they do... |

Smaller teams usually tend to have a spirit in them that is missing in the larger teams, it could be put down to the underdog type status, or the close knit team vs large 'company' Whatever it is, racing needs these teams that attract punters sheerly to see them go, regardless of how well they actually do.
