David should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
This is my favorite so far, for both looks and sound:

2003 Corvette Le Mans

That being said, I sure wish Corvette Racing had less marketing influence and would honor history a little more (not unlike the just-announced Aston Martin DBR9) with the early Corvette version of the official US scheme:

1957 Corvette Sebring

I must admit I preferred the blue Corvette livery too. I was disappointed when they reverted to the yellow.

i agree with you ayedasi but all the vette fans love that yellow. it's old and boring now. besides the new C6 vettes aren't offered in yellow. they have a new orange with looks nice like a burnt orange, they should use that. but yeah the 2003 lemans livery on the vettes was the best. but after seeing the new aston i think that's my favorite GT1 car now. that car looks so mean yet elegant at the same time.

Now after seeing the new Aston Martin DB9-R, I would have to say it ranks as one of the best looking GT1 (GTS) cars in my book. Can't wait to see what color scheme Aston will do. And for the Vettes, the best paint job they had was the white with a red and blue stripe down the middle for the Sebring 2000 practice until the cars were painted yellow for the race. Does anyone have a picture of it, I have only seen one???

I agree that this was the best ever. Wish they had raced it:

Feb, 2000 Sebring Test

I have a web site with lots of Corvette Racing info here .

well the aston's will be that green they show in the pics. but like i saod the new C6 isn't available in the yellow. the yellow on the C5-R's is the same yellow they sold on the street C5's. and do recall the C5 came out in 1997. the yellow for it came out in 2000. GM said it took them 3 years to find a yellow that looked good on the C5. and i thought there were some nice ferrari's that haven't been red. the red bull 550 in 2001 same with teh force one 550 in 2001. the menx 360 last year was nice

go to corvette.com and build your own C6... right there buddy

the car on the mainpage is also millenium yellow. where were you looking???

better yet, pictures are better than words right?

i think the C6-R would look good in the Le Mans Blue Metallic color

Calm down over the yellow Corvettes. We will have to wait and see what GM does for the color of the C6Rs. As for me, I will be rooting on the DB9-Rs for 2005! I wish new Oreca Viprs would come back, i miss them.

there was a porsche 911 Gt2 car in 1997 or 1998 that had the best looking livery for a long time.
It sported a drawing of a half naked woman on the car.
Does anyone has a picture of that car.
a lot of magazines did not want to print it in their mags.

At a Corvettes at Carlisle seminar this past August, Gary Claudio, Group Marketing Manager for GM racing, said that yellow had become the identifying color for the Corvette Racing team, therefore, the C6-Rs would race in yellow in 2005 "unless a sponsorship arrangement dictates another color". (Money talks.)

Above is an artist's interpretation of the C6-R that was originally hosted by LS1Camaro.net. I apologize that I did not record the artist's name.

ugh and i still think yellow doesn't suit the car at all even if it's an artist's rendition. even the racer's group which was identified by their blue changed their colors. so if a small private team can change colors why can't a big budget factory team can't?
