So Briggs brought the Dawson Monza? I have a photo of a white Monza, from 1978/79 with orange/yellow stripes on it. I'd post it up here, but can't. Its in NZ, could this be the Briggs car? Did he bring it to NZ after Dawson sold it?
If Briggs got the Dawson Monza, who got the Art McKee Monza? Was that John Pollard? I was told the Pollard car was rebodied as a Saab? Is this true? All these Monza connections make my brain hurt. There must have been 300 Monzas which raced in Aus. Or were there really only 3 or 4 with lots of different owners? Canaroz, you mentioned speaking with Tino Leo, how is the Monaro looking? Is this the coolest car ever? |

Flsh; what colours now - will it be at Oran Park. Also, how many versions does Dick own: I understood there was the original car (modified road car), then two dedicated cars built for the track, is this correct? Last edited by cavvy; 7 Nov 2004 at 00:32. |

from listening very poorly to one of his employees. the fiat used to be a factory car till it weas rolled and dick got hold of it. dick ran it and slowly modified it to its current state taking it all over australia and to maylasia?? to beat factory BMW teams and all comers. till it was wrecked in 1982. the fotos that i saw showed it in green and brown and with red/yellow go-gear stripes.

Amonfan,
I would have to check the Library! I have no reference to Finch running a Camaro other than the Indy Speed shop car (68 Model now owned by Bob Middleton). Do you know what happened to the Finch Monaro. I have seen reference to two Monaro's racing at Wanneroo (one was the McCarthy ex-Geoghegan HZ) and I think the other was the Finch car. I remember racing in the same races as Peter Finch and the Monaro (Tucker Florist) was very fast, a Develco Chassis if my memory is anything to go by. |

The Finch Monaro went to Gordan Stephenson, then to a guy called Anderson from mem, think the guy even travelled from Perth and raced it at Sandown for the 84 S?sedan/GT round. I recall Finch in this Camaro, he also drove the ex McCormack Charger circa 85 and also a low looking Torana Hatchback, prehaps the ex Frank Wilson car? I think later Bob Biltoft had the car, if its the same car, lol.
Camaro, you got me going now, lol |

Amonfan,
I have been looking for the Gardner 2nd Gen car. Any info would be a big plus. My research has the Grey car an ex-IMSA car but I do remember the rear guards being very similar to the Gardner car (not IMSA AAGT or Kelly Girl Challenge shape) and there is no info out of Europe as to where it went. I will contact Gene Felton and see if he has any info! Keep going, Cheers. |

I think the Monaro was Tino Leo and the RX7 it Keith Carling. The Monza looks like the ex Bob Jane car. I don't know about the Escort but it looks like a Monterosso car.
