I just read earlier today that they are hoping to retain the same driver line up for the third car at LeMans.

Just for What Ifs, if Hulk couldn't go the Le Mans next year, who would take the spot? Mako? Or another GT ace? Or another star from outside endurance racing? |

This may seem obvious but as long as...
1 The series/rules suit them 2 The budget to be a winner is reasonable 3 Management continues to see value I can expect them to stay for the long haul and that is good. I guess the question is to look back over the past few decades at the times in which Porsche was not in top level racing and ask the question "why not" to see the scenario that would push them out again. Without putting much thought into it, I see two major aspects... 1. Economy (#2 and 3 from above) 2. Management not interested enough (to a degree this is also economy) Richard |

I don't have any new information about the 919, but I just thought it best to announce that I am now a massive, massive Porsche fanboy.*
Yes Mark, you know what's up *The link won't work if you're not in the UK or can't spoof a UK ISP. It's a video where Mark Webber does predictions for the Premier League matches this weekend, and explains why he supports Manchester United. |

Montoya is in the porsche pit/garage area, and interest is there. Porsche says a possible test for him may take place!

What a difference the HDF package makes in the looks department. The sprint package and especially the 2014 were incredibly boxy and ugly (obviously IMO). With a better livery (easily the worst livery in recent memory) it will be one of the best looking P1 cars since the BHF and BHH were introduced.
Still wondering why no one else has copied Audi's wing mirror solution. It has to be a straight drag reduction for the same downforce. Also no one else but Toyota is using the hybrid system to push start the car, getting rid of the starter would save some weight. |

Doesn't Toyota start on electric? Then engine kicks in. |

That's exactly what cokata is saying, that Toyota do use the electric motor to start the car, but neither Audi nor Porsche do the same:

Oops I misread that had a long day.. I just remember from LM hanging over the pits and seeing the Toyota leave on electric.

Congratulations on pole. Now all I need is the race results to mirror qualifying. Dare I go so far as to dream of Porsche winning in GTE as well?

Not only that, the car can start moving the millisecond the fuel hose is detached / the car drops down from the jacks. Even the quickest starter in the world can't fire up the engine immediately. Furthermore i would guess that Toyota's solution would let them accelerate up to the speed limiter quicker simply because of the max torque being available down from 0 RPM.
