Ignition ???
Hi all i am new to this kart stuff so please excuse my lack of knowlege.anyway i have just purchased a YZ 250 about a 1992 and it has a ignition similar to the motorplat ignition i had on a old motorcross bike. the only thing i can see on the ignition itself is it reads HP Elecronic ignition ,Homologacion CIK 951,Ital Sistem.
What i would like to know is how to set it up regards to Top dead centre?? do they have a web site ?? any information on this would be helpful. Thanx in advance.Speedy |

hi there, first find tdc,by using a dial guage.rotate until the needle wont go any further.it will star coming back
rotate it,back and forward at that point untilit wont move any further zero it. then rotate the flywheel back to what ever before tdc u want.there usually is marks on the fw& outside on the plate.u then simply when u have your flywheel set at whatever mm before tdc u want line the marks up by moving the stator plate. i dont know what a motoplat is set to on a yz250,on a rotax sigle its .9mm before tdc.u will have to find this out.but this is how its done. as far as web sites go,theres not a hell of alot about motoplats.im not sure even if they make them new these days, but have a hunt around on the net ,i have stumbled upon the odd one.cant remember the add though.cheers |
