It was embarrasing. Day 1 becomes inconsequential as everyone just decides to back off at the end of it. And to first have Ogier check out late, to Hirvonen check in early, and then Ogier check in ahead of Loeb to sweep the road.. atrocious. Let the competitors pick their road positions for the following day based on running order. Your decision, so don't complain about it.

Something needs doing I agree - not sure what though. Having cars parked up at the side of the stage just killing time is ludicrous. Random draw? Stay in championship order?

Anotehr nail in the coffin for this championship I feel
I havent watched a second of it for years! Noone wants to see two guys winning every rally years ahead of averyone else, and this is usually just one guy Sooner rules are changed and eitehr S2000 or new spec used the better. Wrc right now is as boring as F1 used to be in 2000's when Schuey won all the time |

Its become hard not to treat this Championship as a joke. They did have this problem of tactics a few years ago which came to a head with Carlos Sainz being DQ'd for coming to a stop in the control section on a stage. That plus the intense lack of competition, spectator friendly stages with no real TV or competition value makes it a joke.
They also still have a massive air of unwarranted superiority about them, pretending that they should be scared of the the IRC and other motorsport around the place. Surely too, Loeb would have been embarrassed by all of this. He is obviously good enough to win on his own without all of this 'tactics'. |
