Just for use in the National Championship, or will we see it in the ERC (full season)?

Mats Ohman will use the S40 mk2 for mainly national use, and possibly the Swedeish and Finnish ERC events? As for Frode Holte he has sold the car of last year on and is building a brand new Volvo C30!

Awesome news for the ERC. Do I sense "let's get a list of the 2010 ERC regulars" thread coming up.... (just cos I am bored at work and I want to see the ERC now!)

We could have a few Brits too
Liam Doran
Pat Doran
David Binks?
Steve Hill
Mad Mark
Kevin Proctor
George Tracey?
George Tracey Jr? (I know they're Irish)
Ollie?
And whoever else I missed.

I am bored too Hickey. So here is my ERC 2010 list so far.

Confirmed for ERC
Michael Jernberg, Kenneth Hansen, Andreas Eriksson, Frode Holte, Guttorm Lindefjell,
Liam Doran, Kjell Arne Smerud, Michaël De Keersmaecker, Jiri Galuska

Not yet confirmed but likely to do ERC (I think)
Sverre Isachsen, Jean-Luc Pailler, Stig-Olov Walfridsson, Ole Kristian Nøttveit,
Pavel Koutný, Morten Bermingrud, René Münnich, Jussi Pinomäki, Per Eklund, Morten Jespersen.

Jos Kuypers and Koen Pauwels will focus on their domestic championship and will only do a few ERC races.
Still no news from ERC regulars: Kevin Procter, Christopher Evans, Pat Doran, Helmut Wild, Harald Sachweh, Olivier Anne, Ayrat Shaymiev or Rustam Minnikhanov.

I do not speak French but I hope that one of our Belgian members can confirm this. I think the French champion Marc Laboulle will do 8 ERC races with his new M Technologies buildt Citroen C4.

Please add or change if I’ve got something’s wrong!!

You are right that Marc Laboulle will drive 8 ERC races.
I am surprised about Jiri Galuska, are you sure he will drive Division 1?
I think we will see Kuypers in quite a few ERC races. The Dutch championship only has 5 events of which none conflict with the ERC.
There have been rumours in Belgium that Francois Duval has budget for a couple of ERC rounds. But there has been no official announcement and his focus is still on rally first.
The Belgian Championship has 8 races including two foreign weekends and a date clash with Finland, so I do not expect a lot of fulltime Belgian drivers.
Last year there was talk that Ayrat Shaymievs brother Radik was building a 207 for Rallycross, so I expect we will see the Russians reappear??
The last news I heard about Rene Munnich was that he will do the ERC in Division 1 and German Championship in Division 1a. But that was some time ago so perhaps he changed his mind.
Jean-Luc Pailler said he would never drive a full French Championship again so I expect him back in the ERC too.

From the Brits:
Procter and Liam will do a full ERC.
I would expect to see Hill, Pat, Langley, McCann, Binks, Watson, Tracey Jnr at Lydden
I know Mad Mark plans to do a few events including GB and France.
Godfrey will do a fair few events including GB, Bel, France.
There will be no George Senior in the ERC or BRC
Not sure of Evans' plans it will all be budget dependent as normal.
Maybe a couple of other surprises during the year including a couple of Evo's seen a few times!
I also know Hal Ridge plans to debut the Clio in Portugal, good chance to pick up some points.
Would expect to see Knowles (C2) and Thorndyke (206) at various ERC events in Div1a especially Lydden.
Even the Swifts do comply with Div1a so could expect a few at Lydden!

All in all a good showing from GB in the ERC this year.

.
From ERC 24(1385) “My plan is to have three cars. We are going to build two Division One Fiestas and keep this One-A car,” said Galuska. “I will drive one of the D1 cars and we will rent the other one and the One-A.”

Billionaire Mattias Therman has attracted Marcus Grönholm back to the Swedish Rally.
Now he wants to get him to start in the Finland Rally also.
But instead Grönholm are thinking of a possible return to the Rallycross championships at Höljes. - I do not know how it goes yet. We'll see, said Grönholm. But something that in all cases are likely to be this year for Marcus, X Games, where he'll try to poke Last year's winner Swede Kenny Bräck from the throne - and a new attempt at Pikes Peak with the Olsbergs MSE team. If we get this together, I will go there and win, "said Grönholm.

Would love to see Gronholm have a bit more luck on Pikes Peak - and watching him show X-Games a thing or two would be be pretty entertaining as well!

I heard something about Coox being given the Begian Championship instead of Pauwels for last year - anyone know what that's all about?

Kuypers drove one BC race, in July, in which he finished behind Coox but in front of Pauwels. During the very last race in October they suddenly decided Kuypers should be disqualified because he has an Italian license. He appealed that decision and of course won.
So the July result stands, which gives Coox one point advantage. If the appeal was rejected, Pauwels would have moved up one place and he would be champion.

Thanks for clearing up the Coox/Pauwels business - strange it took this long to get sorted out really.

As far as the Lydden Joker lap goes I didn't notice much difference - it was only marked out with tyres and I didn't pay it any real attention tbh - the only person that used it was Pauwels. If it has changed it's only a slight re-profiling of the temporary barriers.

The Belgian Organisation had a doubt about Jos Kuypers being a professional. After Kuypers proved he is a professional, they refused to change the standing. As Kuypers wants to do the Belgian and Dutch championship this year it was very important for him to get his points back. Now, 1 one week, before the start of the Belgian Championship he got his points back and therefore Coox his title.
