Southern Ireland Championship Dates 2008

Rd 4 Mondello 7/8 June dh National
Rd 5 Anglessey 5/6 July dh
Rd 6 Pembrey 16/17 August th Triple Header
Rd 7 Mondello 13/14 September sr International Track

Leinster Trophy Race wekend 13/14 will have a stand alone non-championship race for ff1600 on Sunday.

Southern Ireland Championship cars will run at a new minimum weight of 500kg car and driver and 420kg car only.
3 set tyre rule remains for this season,all rds to count. For further info contact co-ordinator

Only 5 rounds in the south and 7 outside the south, hardly a "Southern" championship. Didn't Motorsport Ireland throw the teddy out the pram a couple of years ago when another series wanted to have more than 1/3rd rounds outside the south?

Anglessey rounds are held by the Leinster club so they are deemed to be Irish

Is there no NI C/ship rounds outside Kirkistown then? They usually do a couple at Mondello etc. I thought?

We only look after the SI championship so those are the dates we got i would say the 500 club will release there calendar soon so i will post it when i get it. I heard that they are going to Anglessey and Knockhill but that is only hearsay.

Shame the Angelsey rounds clash with the British Grand Prix.

With my Silverstone hat on, sadly the Leinster Trophy clashes with the Silverstone Le Mans Series weekend, which may prevent me taking the old Van Diemen RF78 to Mondello with a 'Kiwi Superstar' behind the wheel.

Just send over the Kiwi Superstar and the car, we'll look after them, won't we Scober??! We'll even update his progress on tenths over the weekend to keep you informed!!
