Mad Mark Watson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The London Masters

Just to tell everyone I have just returned from Excel doing a reccy.
This is fabulous venue and a real show case for our sport. The track will be exceptionally quick mostly flat 4/5th gear. The loose should be very fast to well graded and very fine so should hold together well. I was suprised how big the site is. The straights will be as long as anything in England. Overlooked by the Sunborn yacht and other hotels. This is a real show case for our sport. I hope to see everyone there!!

Thanks for the update Mark.

Really looking forward to the event. As you say, this should be really good for the sport.

"I hope to see everyone there!!"

Does anyone actually know where "everyone" goes?? Is it like a normal circuit, standing trackside, or do we all get put in grandstands?? Just wondering.

There is a rising walkway into excel and out where persons from the exhibition will come out from this is raised and an excellent view point. then the spectators stand aruond edge on 3 sides good viewing no obstacles and flat.
However i think you can see racing from bar at top of Sunborn yacht which sounds even better!!

Mark - sounds good - thanks for shedding some light on the viewing situation. Was hoping there would be some choice rather than all being herded into a single stand - and it sounds pretty good from what you say.

Might well book me tickets now.....

Is this track just gonna be used for the ExCeL shows or are there opportunities for us to run events there in the coming seasons?

Does anyone know if we are going to be allowed into the pits as at other rallycross meetings?
Just want to look up a few people who I know are competing.

I would hope so from a competitor point of view good to talk to fans and get their feedback. Obivously through the motor show we should have m,any new faces there and I for one want to get time to tell people about our sport and the machines we run.

I'm sure we will be able to supply coffee/tea and biccies, as well as a choice of cold drinks. You could even join us in the bar of the Premier Inn after the meeting on Saturday night

Is there a circuit diagram online anywhere yet that shows the layout? Also is access to the paddock as open as a 'normal' rallycross meeting?

The best I can find at the moment is HERE
I'm not sure if the public are allowed into the underground paddock. The HSE rules & regs are very strict. That is why we are not allowed to refuel in the paddock, there is a special area for refueling outside.

Looks good - it's a short run from the start onto the loose that final turn on the loose could be interesting - you won't want to be going wide there with a concrete barrier on the outside! Looking at that I guess the paddock is out of bounds for spectators
