installing a plumbed in system - 2 litre saloon - I'm sure I read in blue book about rules for number of nozzles and where they're located dependent on engine size, now I can't find it ! Anyone point me in the right direction, or tell me I was dreaming !

Two nozzels into the engine bay and two installed in the cockpit,I install these so theres one pointing under the dash[in front of driver] and position the second pointing across the car behind the drivers seat,the idea being that there will be some protection from the tank.

Couldn't find mention of the number of nozzles, other than cockpit and engine bay needing at least one nozzle each.

The blue book index helps, and the digital version is searchable by keyword.

TC, thanks - I had read that section and indeed all the other references in the 2008 BB index without finding what I wanted, hence the question.

It is usualy stated in the manufactures instructions but I did read it in an FIA bulletin about three years ago when the new directive came in about Two in the Engine Bay and Two in the Cockpit,it was when the capacitys were increased from 2.75 to 4ltrs,FIA that is.

AFAIK it's 4 nozzles for FIA 4 litre systems only and the 2.75 (MSA legal only) will have 2 nozzles. ISTR that some rules change at 2-litre engine capacity, the Monty is 1997(?) so you'd be OK anyway. If you're going to take it overseas of course you'll need FIA homol.

One under engine bay, one in cockpit is all thats required in UK club motorsport unless mentioned in SR's. I have fitted a couple lately and they have all passed OK many times.

Normal club racing, minimum 2.25 AFFF one nozzel pointing into the drivers foot well and one nozzel pointing to the fuel side of the engine, as you increase size of bottle so you can increase number of nozzels.
