kiwi butt should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Nice work profii, converting another of Matty White's discards so the Malaysians can pay well over the odds for the car to run in Mederka.

Do you even tell them the upgrade has never been allowed to run?

What do you do with the car once ts passed its development series life?

Were just going to muck around with it

Also 00 motorsport were entered as race preperation and matiance in the BA time. Convert an au to ba and relog it.
I can't recall but did they last the season?

We also know Mr Gore was never big spender on the cars.
The ex-Noske 00 Motorsport AU ended up in China for the first laps taken by a V8Supercar on that circuit. Mr Rogers brought a ride car with him from memory and did hot laps for the officials.

An AU to BA conversion will allegedly not create the exact same silhouette as a full blown BA, the suspension locations are not identical either, from memory...

MWR did convert an ex-Briggs AU to BA body spec, and onsold it to Asia, to run in a Malaysian endurance race, but it was never a compliant spec for any V8Supercar event

The roof, doors and pillars are the same. The au bonnet and boot is more slopy. The rear rails are different.

BTW BA and BF suspension fits perfect on the au, the only difference is the upright. AU had rod ends in bending.

I thought the AU roof was slighly different to the BA, due to the AU's extra-rounded rear windsecreen. The top corners of it are squarer on the BA/BF.

Also, you can see the GRM car behind the AU in that pic.

Only the bolt-on bits brakes, engine, gearbox etc. would be transferred over surely. So the chassis and suspension and all the other needed electrics and systems would surely be perfectly sound.

Why would they build a new car if didn't have developments in the (riveting..... ) areas of oil, fuel pumps etc (and suspension and cage of course) that people pay $600,000 for the special latest WP design.

I think I read in AA this week that Roland Dane was quoted as sating they were charging $330k for a new FG without engine or gearbox... Which doesn't sound too bad, assuming all the electronics etc are all done.

Even with the other bits installed, you'd think that's better than a 2nd hand WP machine?

Assuming that buying team has to provide their own labour to do the final assembly that seems reasonable.

I suppose they are provided with drawings to make their own spare parts?
