3 separate publications running stories on the subject but yet we want to bury our heads in the sand. Your expectation of direct quotes from organisations involved - is this a requirement for all threads now or just this one? |

With nothing to base it on other than denials of stories that from face value appear to have no base other than hope. Private equiteers are not usually ones for telling the world they are selling, until such time that they have selected their stalking horse. None appear to be in the mix, no organisation has been directly linked to a takeover, while the usual guff about the teams buying back the farm isn't being trotted out either. You might just be surprised at plans to parlay other sporting assets with V8SC in the near future. Another private equity proposition to create additional value before a any purported sale... Or not. Sounds too hard. Lets stick with the "Sky is Falling" mantra |

I'm well and truly on the fence on this topic with splinters firmly embedded in my backside, however it must be noted that of the 3 publications to have run the story, 2 of them are likely only to have run it because 1 or both of the others already have.

If something was afoot, unlikely that V8SC would come out and say: fair cop you're onto something. The rubbishing of reports is just the standard method organisations respond whenever these stories appear regardless of the validity. The only way we would likely know beforehand, was if Archer were required by ASX or ASIC rules to confirm or deny the rumours. As they haven't, either there is nothing to report or there structure does not require them to.
Either way don't think it is the beginning of the end as some believe/hope, but nonetheless if an equity partner does bail, given that they are probably doing so when they feel their return on investment has or is about to peak, is noteworthy. |

Tony Quinn has repeatedly stated that AGT is not for sale. I see what you are getting at though, and these deals definitely add some value to the business from a sale perspective (The 12hr & the V8Utes category management...although they sort of took that one on because they had to, the class would'nt have survived) Can we perhaps get back to some sensible converation instead of blaming DRT and his axe or inflammatory comments like "Won't matter anyway.. V8SC is clearly failing and about to cease to exist" It is not the minority of posters worried about the current direction of V8Supercars, just look at other V8Supercar forums, the V8SC Fb page itself, the likes of Speedcafe & Auto Action Fb pages etc... |

AA has had more "scoops" that never were than an invisible ice cream shop. Even so... I run my business and occasionally I change arrangements with one supplier or another, including banks... So I'm not even sure that seeking refinancing is a sign of a pending sale. You would say though despite the doom and gloom, the Foxtel deal is stable and lucrative, Penske have joined and are not fooling around, the B12hr is a growing and popular event, I think V8Supercars is probably in better shape than it has been in a while, so maybe it is time. |

Add in being dumped by the NSW Government and a shaky upcoming Malaysian deal, instability amongst Gen2 and manufacturer renewal and its not all plain sailing. |

A new naming rights sponsor soon, a new series sponsor announced in red Rooster, why is the series heading for doom?
On a side note, the NSW Government haven't dumped V8s, they still have a few years left on the contract, just not at Homebush |

It's 21 degrees in Sydney today, only partly cloudy and with a slight wind. Why don't you take nice walk to your nearest Red Rooster, buy a chicken and sit down and enjoy a simple pleasure. |

If there is currently no income from that stream because there is no title sponsor in place right now, and presuming the sponsorship deal more than covers the cost of the placement, then it is income upside for the category that was not (is not until July) in place right now. |

In terms of my previous post - which aspects of the post were factually incorrect and 'heaped a tonne of negativity' that hadnt already been discussed in public? Why so defensive of discussion that is surrounding V8SC at the current time? |

These same posters are happy to speculate on the future of drivers, team staff & a certain permanent circuit, but are amazingly silent when it comes to any speculation on the series itself or trouble with any of their 'marquee events'....... |

Why does it matter?
If you own an asset and pull a whole bunch of money out of it while you own it, does the purchase price vs the sell price matter that much? Surely the net profit vs net loss is the ultimate aim. Your seeking the glass half full out of everything is getting old. |

Is this not a common and standard comparison? Look at business or real estate for further examples
Isn't this also an indication of the current value of the product? Quote:
