Looks like I have to rely on 'other sources' or wait for the blu-ray.

The film will be shown on Sunday 1 November at the Pathé Le Mans Quinconces cinema at 15.00.
I've no chance of seeing it then, as I shall be in Spain. Have to catch it later.

The E-Type 150 one? I've not read much of it. Sort of forgot about it.
I haven't even found out where Robert Coucher trailered his XK to have a little drive this month.

Yes its only on at the light. Personally I prefer that as it's a shorter walk home but it probably won't be the easiest place to get to on a friday night

Thoughts on the documentary? I enjoyed was a tad steady at the start but it became enjoyable a great insight into the film and McQueen. Only bit I couldn't under was why did McQueen never meet or talk to Piper after the accident near Maison Blanche? If he only cared about the drivers surely he'd of at least visited him.

Thought it was great, with some good footage of Le Mans in 1970 and in 2014. Also was pleasantly surprised at how many people were at the showing especially after the number that went to journey to Le Mans last year.

About McQueen not speaking to Piper afterwards, I'm not sure if they were trying to imply that he felt partly responsible for the crash and so couldn't bring himself to see him. I will admit that I was surprised that he didn't.

Overall, good film and I would recommend it to anyone who likes Le Mans just for the footage only

Agree with Giba, well worth the longish return trip to see it.

It confirmed that it certainly was a strange way to go about making a film, and does explain some of its more unusual 'features'...

Yesterday evening I ventured a couple of junctions down the M3 to exotic Basingstoke for my nearest showing of SM:TM&LM.

I have seen the 'Le Mans' film several times but only ever on a tv screen so it was worth the journey just to see some of the original footage on The Big Screen.

Overall I enjoyed the film, but felt they could have spent a little more time at the start trying to explain the fascination of the LM24.

I was also expecting the documentary to contain more scenes from the original film, such as the iconic 'heart beat' start sequence, but I guess there were sensible legal/financial reasons not to do so.

In conclusion, I'll definitely watch it again when it is shown on tv but probably won't buy the DVD unless there are a load of interesting extras.

unfortunately no cinema around here showing the film so i will have to wait for either the dvd or for it to be shown on the telly, i have the actual dvd of the original film and try to watch it a few weeks before the annual trip down.

I saw this at the cinema and enjoyed it. It is like the film, the footage is brilliant and evocative. The narrative not so compelling!
