didnt move any goal posts, You just looked at them from a different angle, I was always referring tot he size of the Aust gt grids

But if it helps, 25 Aust GT teams took to the grid in at least 1 round of the SRO championship, just 10 Aust Gt teams, started in the recent Endurance round, (one of which didnt race at in the SRO round)

Yes peckstar however you implied that Aus GT grids were reducing in line with the addition of new international series.

Your use of the SRO intercontinental championship is an interesting one to support your post. Could you enlighten us with the number of Aus GT teams who have since competed at Rounds 2 and 3 of the series at the expense of local rounds?

This will no doubt further prove and strengthen your initial post.

look let me just quote to you Mark Griffiths, he raced on the weekend (sourced in the 2018 thread and speedcafe)

We might do that Intercontinental series next year and then just run the GT4s here,
Whether you like it or not, that is what competitors have the opportunity to do, which is what GTR was saying

Its an option. 1 of 3 real options currently facing the category.

1) Cams run it.
2) V8SC make a competitive bid and gain the management lease rights
3) Another category manager / promoter is found
Or Quinnie keeps the management rights but contracts Supercars to run the operations. That could mean that the contract with CAMS stays in place but the outcome originally sought by AGT/VASC is delivered in a different way.

Agreed Tourer - definitely another option.

When does Tony's category management rights expire?

If VASC running GT was the aim, this seems the most logical progression. But logic & motorsport don't seem to go together.

And flies in the face of the Audi Asian series trumping Australian GT3 series in Adelaide. I still think there more at play here in this country with the GT3 category then has been uncovered so far.

Yep, all that. As I said before, I'm not sure we can substantiate an Enduro and a Sprint series in this country at this time, that may be one problem. But there's a lot going on here, and as you've highlighted, a lot not going on.

Would Supercars really want to run things for Quinn as just a sub-contractor and not having a final say on things?

If teams choose to compete in the SRO series that has one race in November, one in December and then one in February, over competing in a national series during the other months, then there is a high chance they were likely never going to do the national series in the first place

Audi Australia have never raced cars in NZ, so why would they go this year?

Melbourne Performance Centre however take their cars where their customers want to go, of which they took 1 car to New Zealand.

So excuses now

of course you mean Audi Sport Customer Racing the only Australian supplier of all Audi Sport race cars and spare parts.

Depends on the deal doesn't it? If by running the operations, Supercars make all the calls, pay CAMS the management fee, deal with the competitors and TQ is not much more than a figurehead, it might work for Supercars. Whether it would work for CAMS could be another matter and whether or not CAMS could block it would depend on the terms of the CMA.

I'm only spitballing but it feels like one of several possible options.

Indeed, there may be a non-subcontracting without prior approval clause with or without the caveat [which CAMS will not unreasonably withhold]
