dont forget ALL those renders have been produced by people OUTSIDE of McLaren. You can tell the Car mag one is based off of some Ascari images. Only images to trust are the actual spy shots

If you dont believe me try this report from yesterdays press conference

I am not saying that these pictures are of the actual car - but it is 100% clear that Mclaren are stepping into more serious sportscar production.

And if its car magazine you doubt - perhaps this will get you believing this is happening:

I agree there is a new maclaren coming very soon, but years of leaked news of amazing cars which are going to be being built either turn out very different or never materialise have made me very sceptical.

However I am also very optimistic that whatever the car eventually looks like it is unlikely to be as ugly as some of the recent offerings from more established supercar makers.

Difficult to tell anything under all those false panels, but nothing indicates that it will be a radical new shape, lets hope it will have something to set it apart when it finally emerges as a finished article.

The chassis in those photos resembles a bit the F1 from the 90s.
I liked those cars.

Plus some other qualifiers Here Through 2.2

2.1.3 -
The "LM" GT2 Grand Touring car must meet a minimum
of the following criteria :
a/ To be regularly produced by a manufacturer
approved by ACO ;

A regular production implies a permanent
implementation of the means required to
produce a minimum of 1 car per week for the
"big manufacturers" and one car per month
to the "small manufacturers". If the
production is not respected, the ACO will
suspend the homologation of the car the year
after. The suspension of the homologation
will cease once the production delay has
been made up. It will be permitted to
compete with the car as soon as a minimum
of 100 road cars for the "big manufacturers"
and 25 road cars for the "small

manufacturers" will be produced.

Now comes the news that TRG are to race the McLaren Mercedes originally intended "only as a one make Gentlemen's Racer". It will be interesting to see how it does and then contemplate how many exist

zac510 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The F1 Le Mans and GT projects were pretty heavily focused on privateer money rather than factory team + sponsorship.

I guess it all depends whether the privateers want to jump on board and run a McLaren GT car. I dare say there'll be a few who will
