As I remember did the Lotus run in British GT under a 'local' homologation, similar to the Mosler did, and may not ever have been officially approved for FIA GT3? I certainly don't ever recall it appearing there apart from in the pre-season tests.
As I remember, the first season for the Lotus in British GT showed some potential, but an 'improved' version of the car the next year lived up to that old Lotus nickname (Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious), and the team (IIRC Paul Whight's Cadena) who were running it bought an Aston instead...

peugeot runs in brazilian stock car champ that is a sort of mix between megane eurotrophy and dtm, surely they don't have a GT style car in their production to make a gt3 version.

There were rumours of a new GT3 car surfacing soon according to several sources but heard nothing more since.

There was to be a Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione GT3 but the project didnt get underway and thus nothing happened. Which is a massive shame, would've loved to see that beautiful roadcar hitting the racetrack.

All they have to do is build a RWD 107 with the V12 out of the old 908 LMP1 car.

BOP can take care of the rest.

Not really. They need a coupe and a decent production engine.

Yeah right, a small 1.6 THP engine with 200 hp is real challenger for the big V8/V10/V12 engines with 500+ hp

Doesn't matter, FIA would give it twin 99,9mm restrictors, 600kg weight decrease, bigger fuel tank, 2m wide rear wing & unlimited supply of tyres.

And a bottle of expensive champagne.

Well, just in case, here's some official articles on the Camaro GT3 http://www.endurance-info.com/versio...ance-9170.html

and the Gallardo GT3 http://www.worldcarfans.com/11201023...CarFans.com%29

Both developed at least partly by Reiter

camaro is too much heavy in my opinion, 1300kg was good for first generation of GT3 cars, but the new produced gt3 cars should have a weight of around 1250kg or less to have some chance to be still highly competitive after a massive bop (infact audi did the r8 lms ultra most of all to make lose weight to the old r8 lms, the same is doing the mercedes with the 2012 model of their sls gt3, even if is hard that will have a weight less of 1300kg). Nothing to say about the engine, the usual insanely large and low rev/high torque american v8, God bless the TCS.
Watching the gallardo i think that all manufacter for their 2012 models will use that kind of super splitter! they'll shift most of the downforce to the front of the car hoping to gain a bonus of downforce that the remaining bodywork can't generate to improve the handling of the car. Mercedes and mclaren used this spec in 2011 and at least for the sls the trick worked.
