Yep, the Subaru's might have a big more luck and stability thanks to their longer wheelbase, however I think both teams will find tomorrow tough.

A big shame... I feel for Sutton and Hill. For Ash it could have been a breakthrough weekend and sort of turnaround.

I am totally perplexed how Matt Neal in a empty Civic couldn't be really faster than his fully loaded team mate

should be a good fight between Austin, Goff, Moffat and Tingram, all very hungry for a win !!

I think they'll be in the same boat, changeable conditions and cool temperatures might not be ideal for any rwd car.

Bit harsh. I think it says more about the spread of talent through the field than how easy the cars are drive. I attend the BTCC at Croft, Knockhill and Oulton Park and up close the cars look a real handful to me. Especially in fast corners. Thruxton on TV looks wild, with all the cars looking very nervous. Last year and in all previous years of NGTC there have been 'gentleman drivers' constantly a few seconds off the pace at every track on the calendar.

My understanding was that these cars are harder to drive than the previous spec cars involved in the BTCC? From what I've heard, there is quite a narrow operating window with regards to car setup so perhaps that is why the entire field is are now separated by a small chunk of time.

The adoption of the redress rule is an interesting one. There aren't many severe penalties handed out for contact anyway, and it's a rule which can often cause more problems than it solves, as our friends Down Under will know!

Impressive times from Ingram and Shedden in particular, and it's great to see HARD doing well. Looking forward to the races!

Linking to this it was interesting to hear Austin hint at 'interesting things behind the scenes' (or something like that) regarding manufacturer backing from Toyota during the interview with Paul O'Neill yesterday.

Feels like it's 2018 Silly Season already!

Juniors race was chaos, and the Clios have just gone, erm, all Clio again. In a big way.

Hope it's not a sign of what's to come.

I wonder how much longer we got to wait before the OK to restart racing, I know now that was a bad crash and the helicopter is on the track, I also wonder what happens to all the racing that been on hold since then

The longer this goes on the more worried I'm getting about Monger. Really nasty looking accident.

The tv coverage just said that he is conscious, and that they are being really careful with the extraction.

What a race! And what a drive by Sutton! Absolutely impressive, thought he was going to get even second. What would have been if he had started from pole...
And Tingram impressive as well, actually I think he's among favourites to the title, I'm pretty convinced about it.
And a big shame for Moffat... Weight did harm him so much and not necessarily lucky in this race...

Do we expect Sutton to keep the position? Strange that JP was still nowhere in his Subaru.

Cook has had a couple of great drives too compared to Jelley in similar machinery.

Well it is strange that Plato is nowhere comparing to Sutton but hopefully it will not harm young Ash, that would be just brainless...

Yeah, Cook did well while Motorbase is struggling like hell and actually both Davenport and Depper are not really perspective, I'm afraid. Would be cool to see Cook in Shredded Wheat alongside Jackson and some other exciting talented driver.

That's something at least, really nasty looking incident. Thoughts with him and his family at this time, must be horrific seeing such a young kid involved in an incident like that. My immediete fear was for a head or neck injury - so assuming that it isn't then that's testamont to the strength of helmets and HANS devices these day. If that accident had happened 30 years ago I'm not sure he would still be with us.

Great BTCC race 2. Thoroughly enjoyed it, despite some odd camera work. Could Ingram realistically win the title now?

Kind of felt the same way regarding Motorbase, I guess Davenport needs time to get use to the car, but depper seems even further back then he did in the Honda. Shame as they have the title backing but not really the A+ drivers (other than Jackson) to fill the car.
