Having been at the test and seen the car close up and personal, I have got to say that it is a fabulous looking car and there are so many little things that have been thought about for endurance racing.

It a real credit to the team that designed and produced it.

Can't wait to see it out on track in a race!

Let's hope they put some good headlights on the car. In my mind you can really make or break the look of a car with the lights.

Not surprisingly, it is Daisuke Ito, Champion SUPER GT 2007, Tatsuya Kataoka, the pilot of Team Lexus Kraft in GT500, and Yuji Tachikawa, now with Team Cerumo in Super GT and Formula Nippon.

Good to see they are all top line drivers.

Now if they could just get a hold of a good motor they'd be in business.

Cool looking car.

Who knows, maybe the coupe shape will get someone like Toyota become sentimental?

What's the swtory behind that little Philips sticker on those testing pics btw? Have Dome done the impossible and pulled a major sponsor on board? Prototype racing could really use some big names in terms of sponsoring.

In Super GT, Yuji Tachikawa holds the most record of the pole position.
So he has been named the fastest man of GT (In Japanese, GT saisoku otoko).
Worrying is that they have few driving experience of sports cars.
In Super GT and Formula Nippon, the carbon brake has not been approved for use.

Philips will provide the light bulb. they are GT sponsors.

With Dome having links to Honda (involved in developing the Honda SuperGT car?, running a Honda in SuperGT) I am surprised these are all Toyota drivers.

If Dome are involved with Honda, this might become the Acura LMP1.

Why? He doesn't say anything concrete about building their own chassis. And anyways, if a manufacturer builds a car, it often means having experienced companys build it for them.
If I were Honda, I'd watch the development of that Dome very very closely.

Dome undertakes to develop and manufacture NSX-GT cars from Honda.
But Dome is not affiliated company of Honda.
So, Dome's Le Mans project has nothing to do with Honda.
I think that U.S. Aqula's LMP2 project is technically independent from Japan Honda, except for engine development.
The reason why Dome had selected them as a driver was not their experiences but their potentials, Minoru Hayashi says in Dome's Home Page.

@ diffuser: not only from a speed point of view, the Dome might also be an attractive proposition since it's quite a looker... with a nice livery (and indeed some nice headlights) a manufacturer could create a lot of excitement around it...

On http://www.endurance-info.com/2008_L...zuka_S102h.JPG you can see the carbon fibre gearbox casing Dome made.

They will not use air conditioner. The aero is optimized for Le Mans and they are hoping for 330 km/h max speed.

No, that rule was removed in 2007. Peugeot does not use airco either. I don't know about Lola and Epsilon Euskadi.

The golden part with engine is the sub-frames made of carbon fiber.

And lower gearbox is made of magnesium by X-trac.
upper gearbox is made of carbon fiber by Dome.
They are bonded by adhesive.
