Audi S1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
British/Belgian Champs Lydden Hill 4th&5th April

Not long to go now until the first British event of the year and the visit of the Belgian Championship.

This meeting will NOT see a separate event for the Belgian Champs like in August last year, they will run with British competitors in the same schedule.

The event is a 2 day meeting 4th & 5th April and i am reliably informed that it will run to a European format in terms of running order so things can be practiced and ironed out before the ERC event.

So.........
Practice, Timed Practice and 1st Heats will all take place on Sunday 4th April, starting at 12:30.

Warm Up, 2nd Heats, 3rd Heats and Finals will commence from 9am Monday 5th April

Great News also to see Liam WILL give the C4 its British debut at a RX event in what is likely to be his ONLY BRC start in 2010.

Thoughts?
Who's going? Competing?

I am looking forward to see how Liam will do it between Kuypers, Coox, Pauwels and Van Mechelen!

This could be superb - Pauwels and Coox were rapid at the Belgian round last year and with the usual British suspects in the mix as well it could be an absolute corker

If both championships are running together how is the class structure being broken down?

oh no, cannot make the Sunday, but Monday should be immense with all the Belgians over and the Brits. Full grids, lots of races... cannot wait!

Is 20 supercars pushing it?? I think it's possible

Excellent idea to run the Belgian Championship mixed in with the Brits.... be nice to see a large no of supercars, and also all the Belgian Volvos in the super mods mixing it up with Julian godfrey etc.......

Does anyone know if the Gibson 6R4 will be back this year????

This will be a cracking meeting, and a perfect warm up for the ERC.

If it is being run to European regs, P resume the Joker lap will be included, but can anyone confirm???

Pretty sure that last year the BRDA (or whoever) said it would not have a joker lap in the BRxC - doubt it will have changed for this year - and i hope there is no joker lap - it's nice having the variety. Really looking forward to this, we could have about 8 supercars that race in the ERC, and who knows who else coming over for a pre-ERC shakedown...! Cannot wait!

And hopng that Gibson is out in the 6r4, would be great for those people who have heard of his car on Dirt2 and coming to spectate cos of that.

agreed about the joker, that would have wrecked that great race long two car battle in the belgium final last year.

what about the returm event in belgium in july - would that include the joker?

In Belgium the event is using the joker section.
In Maasmechelen it's location is better then in Lydden Hill.

Don't like the joker section at Lydden at all, completely wrecked the spectacle of the 1st corner for me. The only race that benefited from it during lasts years ERC was the Div 1 B final.

I'm with the Guru almost on this one. The joker lap at Lydden is a farce in its present guise. First of all they should design it so it compliments the circuit and secondly at a track like Lydden it should be banned from being used on the first lap. The forst reason is its so predictable who will take it ie. those on the left side of th track at the back of the grid and the second reason is exactly what happened at Montagnere last year where errikson took the joker and won from the back of the grid!

I think that's the best suggestion, it's an ok joker lap at Lydden (the best I have seen is at Nyirad, and Keralabo is good too), but if you banned it on the first lap, then wouls still get a lap's racing and would work much better.

It won't put me off going if they do use it, but I'd prefer to see racing without the Joker lap.

The people asking about Gibson's 6R4 - is there talk that he won't be using it in 2010 then?

Like us all ,Lawrence is undecided at this moment in time.It all depends on the outcome of many negotiations, and i for one would miss both him and that wild car!!!!

Just heard Duval is using the Focus again this weekend, perhaps we may see him at Lydden.

Correct. He will drive during test-day at Valkenswaard. It's the Pauwels Focus he will drive. He probably will do 5 ERC-events.

As in Pauwels' 2nd Focus (the one Duval drove in the ERC last year) or the one that Pauwels ran at Lydden/Maasmechelen last week? I only ask cos I heard that Pauwels might not do the ERC, but would be a shame not to have both out at Lydden for Easter/ERC.

I don't know which Focus he will drive. Koen revealed in several interviews that he probably want's to do the ERC in a division 2 car.

I'd be surprised if you could find any fans of the sport who wouldn't want to see the 6R4 back on track again!

Are you still undecided on entry for 2010? You were having some work done on the car in preperation for the 2010 season, weren't you? Really hoping for a good showing from yourself and Simon Horton this year!

Well this could be interesting...........

Armed with a new car and with confidence boosted by a successful 2009 season, long serving Rallycross driver Andy Grant will make his strongest bid for glory in the Quaife MSA British Rallycross Championship this year. Grant (49) from Barnstaple in Devon has replaced his trusty Escort Cosworth with the ex-Will Gollop/Andrew Jordan Ford Focus, a car with proven event winning form, and will begin his British championship campaign in the opening round of the eight-event series at Lydden Hill on Easter weekend (from RallycrossUK email)

Why not happy? The ERC will be all joker laps very soon, and this is surly going to spread into all the national championships.

Makes it very interestering as a driver...
