I can only speak for Knockhill, 'cos that's were I was.
The conditions were really changeable and difficult, especially in the final where an exciting watersplash developed. The loose was very slippy but phenomenal to drive all day (like proper gravel rallying but without being able to see where you were going because of the car in front), and I thought the event was really well run. Superfinal result (I think): Andy Scott Andy Grant Gareth Wood Pat Doran Julian Godfrey Mike Howlin Simon Horton (please correct me if that’s wrong – my memory isn’t what it used to be… have I missed someone? Ian O’Connell maybe?) Binks spun in the supercar final so didn’t make it to the superfinal. There was good racing in almost every category – I thought the Swifts in particular were entertaining, and Ollie was awesome in the buggies, although there were a couple of fairly hefty accidents, mainly due to the conditions. A lot of us Southerners won’t be home yet, so you might get more detail later on, but it was a cracking day out – can’t wait for the next round now. |

Sounds like a great weekend rallycross!!
Were they all Supercars that actually competed in the Nutts corner event? If yes then hopefully they can do more supercar classes over on the mainland |

Just about dried out from knockhill, but it was a cracking event and a great venue to have back on the calender. Credit to the circuit as the track was in fantastic condition compaired to years gone by and everyone i spoke to enjoyed the day.
I think the racing was very clean considering the tricky conditons and i think the shunt between hill & gibson was very unlucky and a case of wrong time/ wrong place. Slippy, i think was a understatement! I had my fair share of spins, but it seemed to be catching even the most experianced out with the change of grip levels and amount of standing water. My biggest moment was hitting the brakes at the end of the pit straight at approx 120mph, catching the curb on the inside and slidding backwards down the hill at the first corner at what felt like mach 10. It's not recommended Personally I was happy to get some good quality miles on the car in 2010 and having a fairly hastle free weekend (had a small fuel/boost issue but nothing major). Very pleased to make it to the end of the day considering the conditions and making the supercar A final and superfinal too. Overall it was a good event with good racing on a excellent circuit, just could have done with sunshine Si |
