Skaife - he just tends to shout when commentating and it's annoying

Larkham - IMO he is just not presentable and he hasn't raced in years and god only knows has he driven a new Supercar one without a watts linkage ?

Crompton the Boss of BMX is really good given he is both a driver and commentator

Murphy is wasted in the pits and would be better used elsewhere

Mr Murphy calls Super2, alongside Mr Neylon. Has filled this role for a number of years now.

I'd be happy for these two gentlemen to call the main races. Murph can be quite witty at times.

I don't mind the current line-up.

Depending on which coverage you're viewing, will detirmine your overall experience.

The line-up they have, no matter which way you slice it, is very pundit-laiden though.

I loved the Pommy bloke who did the on-track at Bathurst a few years back.
Addison???

No one else has ever said Winterbottom quite so properly..........

I think Mr Crompton's last race was more recent than Mr Larkham's. Muscle Car Masters rings a bell.

Crompton has done Aussie Racing Cars, TCM & Toyota 86 - besides Crompton was a commentator first and driver second

Would like to see them, Brad Jones & Murphy still driving eg Bathurst 12 Hour

Don't forget about the last 4,562 "ripper" races too.

I don’t think the current commentary lineup is too bad. It’s certainly more bearable than the Channel 9 Cricket commentary team.
I actually don’t remember a time when people weren’t whinging in some form about the talking heads. Oastler anybody?

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
let me leave you with two bits of commentary, pole laps from the last 12 hour and the 1000

Bathurst 1000 2017

Bathurst 12 hour 2018

Reckon we are pretty fortunate with supercars commentary, not perfect but still excellent

I did enjoy the McLaughlin lap, certainly looked more on it than the Mostert lap. You can’t get much better than that

while im agreeing with , have a listen to the difference in the commentary, one is all about the lap, its exciting, explaining this relating to the lap

they other explains to how great bmw colours are and we are almost a third of the lap in before they even mention the driver out there and they dont get excited to about ten seconds to go, you could almost nod off

Partially its there experience with shoot outs i guess

The Aussies certainly know how to commentate on a quick lap. I guess with commentary it’s whatever floats your boat, commentators are good in different ways

I like the 12 hour boys too, it wouldnt feel like the 12 hour without them. Not sur hwy theyre being compared, I think they both do a decent job, and both serve their purpose.

because they have been discussed in this thread in recent day as people who could step up to the Supercars commentary

but when you watch those two bits of commentary on effectively the same thing (pole lap in bathurst shoot out), you can see how lucky we are in supercars with what we have, even though they arent perfect
