Old Rallycross Footage

Given there were masses of televised Rallycross meetings in the late 1960's and early 1970's (Croft, Lydden, Brands etc), has anyone seen any video/DVD footage of any advertised anywhere?

Ive been trying to track this era of footage for years with no luck. BBC and ITV archives are the best place to try. Best Ive got is about 6 hours worth between 1980 and 1984 after that retail video's were more available.

People didn't really have VCR video recorders until the early 80's you have to remember.

I did hear John Welch is supposed to have a large collection of gems on master tapes.

Don't know about ITV, but you'll be lucky to get anything out of the BBC, as I know at least 2 well connected people that have tried to get old Rallycross footage from the BBC without success.

Shame....as I'd love to be able to buy a DVD with lots of old Players series and Grandstand stuff from Lydden Hill as well as from later years.

Exactly GeeRam I write to them years ago about arcgive footage and they wouldnt even let you go anywhere near it.
One place you might wanna try is the old Croft Video Productions people, they videoed loods of stuff
I tried to bid on some old Screensport tapes on Ebay theo other day but someone bought the lot before i won! Was probly someone on here!
If you think how much stuf was on World of Sport, there must be somewhere you can get copies. Let me know if you have luck, might be an idea to club together, they might be more inclined if they get interest from more than one place
