Brilliant live stream coverage by D1NZ considering it's their first attempt at this sort of thing. Great battles as always, well done to Darren Kelly for taking the win.

Cool to see our stream being shared out! Cheers 20b, its a mammoth task trying to build the live stream all from scratch.

OTV Highlights from Round 2 online here for anyone interested:

From the TV3 footage this afternoon the Drift Shifters appeared to be a huge success. Huge crowd, quoted at 20,000 and entertaining competition. Tintop racing is not dead in NZ.
Be good to hear from Nigel as to the TV ratings compared to other weekend shows.

Hi Realist, yeah great audience numbers for Drift Shifters... 209,000 viewers tuned in. That is about the same as Supertourers. I Directed on the day with my normal 3 Motorsport Supertourer crew and we had a great day. A huge buzz for the Camera Operators as they were right beside the track getting very very close to the action. One of our 1/2 million $$$$ cameras got dealt to by Fanga Dan but luckily the cameraman (Paddy Dunn) did not get injured. We had issues with our Drone Camera and Cable camera but apart from that it was a fantastic day.. We went Global on Red Bull TV so hopefully it is the start of something pretty big..

Drifting is definitely not my thing, but it was a great presentation. Amazing how much rear panel damage. Good skills and for those who get a hit from sniffing burning rubber, they would have loved it. Burning rubber to me is just $$$ going up in smoke, literally.

I note one moaning Minnie wrote to the Herald complaining about it having an effect on traffic...

Interesting comments on Drift Shifters - Id be prepared to say that amount of rear panel damage has never really been seen at any other drift event, the barrier layout was a little unforgiving but most drivers diddnt complain too much all things considered, was a fantastic event to have in downtown Auckland.

Onto my stop in here - this weekend is Round 3 of the Demon Energy D1NZ Series at ASB Baypark in Tauranga and we are streaming LIVE and FREE online, details listed in the image below

Shane Van Gisbergen is returning for Baypark, like many others im itching to see how well he can compete behind the wheel of the second Cole Armstrong car and the RB30DET powerplant. Another addition to our V8 vs Turbo promo campaign which has had quite the polarising effect among our fans this season

30 Pro-Championship Drivers scheduled to attend with around 27 in the Development Series - should be a another stinkin hot day in the sun!
