A Christmas Tale (sort of)

Twas the night before Christmas
and all tru the shop
the silence was deafening
you could hear a bolt drop

The helmets were hung
by the window with care
hoping to catch some breeze
they could ALL use some air

The motors were out
the frames all stripped odwn
Tires in Saran Wrap
parts shining like crowns

Sam in the basement
playing Sprint Cars or Dirt
me and the Team Mgr.
sharing a Vodka and Squirt

When all of the sudden
on the lawn such a clatter
sounded like a leopard
with something serious the matter

We jumped to our feet
six hoofes hit the floor
we tore out the back
nearly broke down the door

And there on the lawn
layed out for our eyes
a sled made of tubing
looked like it could fly

8 tiny reindeer
and a guy in Cordura
doing donuts like crazy
going round-round for sure-a

they yelled as they took off
burning rubber out of site
"Merry Christmas you Karters
and to all a good night."

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
