T. A. D. Crook in his Frazer Nash, 21st at the British Grand Prix in 1952, never ever finished a WC race in a higher position.

(Under today's rules he would not have been classified as he was just over 10% down, but at the time things were a bit more flexible. However I don't think there were any RAFs at Indy below 21st place.)

Incidentally, Tony was not last in that race...

Here's another one. What F1 driver swapped seats most times through a single season ? I don't know the answer I'm afraid, but while we've some Norris McWhirters around, I thought I might take advantage of it

In fairly recent times; Johnny Herbert drove for three teams in 1994. Those being Lotus, Ligier and Benetton.

Pardon my asking, but what is a Norris McWhirter? I do like to know if I'm being insulted or paid a compliment,

I doubt it, but is it Keke Rosberg in 1978? Changed teams three times in a year - Theodore to ATS, Theodore and then back to ATS? Assuming it is team changes, not number of teams (I.E. a return to a team counts).

My childhood hero. Co-founder of the Guinness Book of Records and co-presenter of Record Breakers. Used to do a thing called "On The Spot" where the studio audience would ask him questions about world records. And also the official timekeeper at Iffley Road Athletics Track for a little meeting in 1954 at which there was an All-Comers Mile race.

There was only ever one he couldn't answer...

Can you please explain to me how it is possible to participate in a thread like this and be accurate without being anoraky?

How about Maurice Trintignant? He drove three makes of car in three different seasons.
I feel it would be considered too anoraky or too Norris McWhirter to quote them.

That's one that springs to mind alright. I just had visions of some 1970s journeymen swapping teams a lot more frequently, but maybe that wasn't the case. More than half the people in the championship back then would show up for races here and there but never do a complete season.

It was just a friendly response btcckid so that he didn't feel bad about his original question. The only way you could respond to these types of questions without being anoraky is if you were actually involved in the subject of the question itself I guess e.g. Luis Moya saying 'twas I not Carlos that threw the helmet

Yep, well done Graz. Thought it would be an easy one.

I remember EJ got slated for launching the car with no paint, just bare carbon bodywork, I thought it looked gorgeous tho..

What has the first Turbo Grand Prix win and the last one got in common?

p.s. the obvious one, nothing obscure like they both used Koni shock absorbers or anything...
